It's time for Eli to go to the bench and let Kyle Lauletta get his shot so we can see if we need to draft Justin Herbert, or in the second round: drew lock or Ryan Findley. We are clearly going to be picking top 2 or 3, and we need a pass rush as well as a QB. I don't see them passing over Oliver or Bosa for Herbert. What do y'all think?

i doubt you will learn much with him playing behind this joke of an oL

What's the harm in giving him a chance?

idc if laualetta comes in and throws 3 tds a game, you draft herbert or your top QB and move on.

The harm is he is not close to ready and the line stinks. Not to mention by starting a guy who clearly is not ready to play you give the message to the rest of the team to stop playing.
Bitch all you want but we got nothing behind Manning. Nothing.

The current starting QB doesn't look ready to play either, and it's clearly impacting the rest of the team's play.
He can’t be worse than the check-down-clown we have now...
With a good young QB, Barkley, and yes OBJ they can then focus on the Oline and defense.
Those are inexpensive Lottery Tickets---and you can never stop buying or chasing them.

This is not only absurd it's a patently ridiculous statement. There is not a QB in the NFL that could function at any high level behind this line
Webb was (is) pretty horrible.
offensive line play is horrible across the nfl
there is zero harm in letting lauletta go out and play, maybe he surprises you and if he plays like dogshit you then drsft a guy..
They did not do it last year because the fans and media lost their minds
The QB may be able to avoid the first rusher(presumably we touch that guy), the 2nd and 3rd guy would take care of the QB then.

If we get the same exact results from the next QB, and he’s making $4M instead of $20M while the rest of the roles get re-cast, then we’ve moved forward, full stop. The money matters.

There will be protection issues for sure, but to say that the next QB will have as much trouble is absurd. I watched Lauletta take off this preseason and juke a defender right out of his shorts enroute to the end zone. Let me know when Eli does that.
And thats not me making a case for Lauletta. But Eli is one of the most immobile starting QBs in the league and when it comes to avoiding the rush, he is easily going to be more mistake prone than anyone else.
He is not going to develop running the scout team. We are not going to ruin him by playing him. That's insane.
This is the 1970's revisited. Extreme drastic measures are needed to turn this around.
