Officiating.... (by no means an excuse for this blowout)

OBJ_AllDay : 10/12/2018 1:33 am
But when is the nfl going to do something about this? I counted atleast 4 ridiculous calls this week including the one against the eagles Bennett. The nfl is becoming a joke. The Jenkins pass interference? Jeez imagine if this was another close game and that call is made...these calls are ruining the game
It is definitely awful and that's putting it mildly.

However, I doubt anything will be done. There were some ill-timed bad calls against us early when it was still a game. I don't think for a second it would have made a difference to the Win/Loss outcome, but it is tough to watch regardless. Makes a bad season worse.

If the team is winning, it's a lot easier to overlook some bad calls throughout the game. And the endless commercials for that matter...
Yes, it's like the NFL is killing itself....

They are making it harder and harder to watch games.....
And what about the helmet to helmet hit on the 2nd half kickoff?

Helmet to helmet contact was supposed to be a point of emphasis for the officials. Plus the NFL seriously considered taking the kickoff out of the game. Yet Ray Ray Armstrong was injured on the kickoff starting the 2nd half on a blatant helmet to helmet hit. No flag of course.

You could see Shurmur complaining to the official next to him on the sidelines. I would love to hear the official's excuse for no flag on that play.

just tangle your feet with a receiver if you are beat....

just grab a handful of jersey beyond 5 yards if you are beat.....
Payback

My feeling was that the refs were out to get us for our very public trashing of the officials last week. Again, not an excuse for last night at all. But I went last night, and there were numerous blatant holds by the Eagles right in front of officials that they let go, and numerous borderline calls that they called against us. They were more than happy to kick dirt on our grave.

I had that same feeling last night

That's just stupid. You're essentially saying that the refs are thin-skinned cheaters who essentially help fix games. And if you think that way, why even watch the games?
The noncall late in the game was as blatant PI as you'll ever see

The guy simply grabbed Odell by the jersey and yanked on it hard. No call.

I enjoyed hearing Mike Pereira's horseshit defense of the non-call... "survival of the fittest" as he called it. Meanwhile, if anyone on the Giants attempts to intercept a pass, it gets called a penalty.

Didn't Buck or Aikman claim the defender was "playing the ball" while the replay clearly showed him tugging on Beckham's jersey? The only thing he did to "play the ball" was turn his head around.

Contrast that to the Jenkins PI where he actually was playing the ball and if anything the WR initiated the contact. Yet the booth claimed Jenkins ran through him or some BS.

I couldn't believe the official standing right on the goalline

Threw that flag against Jenkins.

He was literally standing right there next to the play and still threw the flag. Preposterous.
