gettleman was probably responsible for the success NYG had when he was here working under reese. didn't you notice how the team got remarkably worse and more quickly after he left. reese and ross were the problems, sentimentally hanging onto eli and trying to do right by him is a problem, but hiring gettleman is not the problem. it's already apparent that this is the most productive draft class they've had since 2007. you can't replace 15 starters on offense and defense AND build depth in one offseason.. you just can't.

the only thing i can fault mara for is letting reese and ross hang around after that awful 2013 season. but they were just off a second superbowl win, so i get why it's hard to fire your GM in that circumstance. ross on the other hand, should have been shown the door long ago. it's no coincidence that the eagles started getting better after he left..

I swear people will be pissed if Barkley is a hall of fame type player. The kid is the real deal and probably will make multiple all=pro teams.

Gettleman had no other job offers. He's here for one reason - the "good" work of Deloitte Accorsi that Gettleman is an Eli ally and will fall in line.

This team had zero oline talent, zero lber talent, zero rb talent, a decimated wr corp, terrible special teams players, an aged and shell shocked qb, and a partially messed up secondary.

The only truly talented players we had going into this offseason were OBJ(injured)Snacks, Sheppard, Collins, Jackrabbit, Collins, and Sheppard (if I missed anyone please add) and Vernon( albeit injured a lot).

Apple was considered a head case.

In this offseason we got Barkely who is a godsend (IMO), Hernandez who is a baller, Carter who will be a good player and Hill.

Solder while not great was still heads above any tackle we had or could get at the time. We lost out on our top choice in Norwell.

So give the FO some time. I never thought we were going to be a good team this year. I predicted a 6-10 record. 1-7 in the first half. We could be 2-6 if we beat either Falcons or Skins.

I think you’re giving DG too much of a pass here. If you are in a total rebuild you don’t take an RB at #2 when your O-line is beyond putrid, you don’t have that luxury. So now they have to suck for another high draft pick to get a QB and your line still sucks. It’s so bad that people say you can’t play a rookie QB behind it, how in the hell do you assess talent then?
And he dumps JPP which resulted in zero pass rush. We all know if you can’t rush the passer OR protect your passer in today’s NFL you are toast!

But I'd rather have taken Darnald or traded down and stocked up on OL/Edge rushers instead of a flashy toy.
