Eli Manning struggled mightily during the New York Giants' 34-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 and his performance might have some of his teammates rumbling behind the scenes. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, behind the scenes, Giants players are starting to question whether or not Manning still has what it takes to lead his team to a victory on a consistent basis every week. "Behind closed doors, several Giants players have expressed frustration with Manning's performance, according to sources," Raanan wrote, via ESPN. "One player specifically commented recently about Manning’s inability to do anything against Cover 2 and zone defenses." |

Read this as well....brutal, but unfortunately it rings true.
Heard him on Sirius NFL yesterday morning and he was going on and on about Eli being the main cause of the struggles.

I mean...can you really disagree with him?

It's what the National Media has been waiting to hear, and Raanan is happy to be the "Eli is Done" guy now that somebody is reading his stuff. He'll ride that train all the way to the top. Maybe they'll even give him a chair on Around The Horn.

Yes I can. OL and the defense are as big if not bigger problems. But Jordan isnt smart enough to write an article like that because it would mean research.
I love Eli Manning or what he has done for this franchise and I respect him for how he carries himself. I would venture to say that 99 percent of those who post here the Manning has had it, take no joy from saying this.
But you can see where the other guys are coming from. Eli hasn't been good for a while. And it's been a long time since his post season success. Some of these guys were teenagers when the giants won super bowls.
So they see a guy making a ton of money who is obviously tight with management and ownership who can't play anymore. They know how ownership stepped in on his behalf last year. And they also see other guys, guys who they are probably closer to personally who got cut or aren't going to make that much money in their careers. Or guys who are good now while the team is being held back by terrible QB play. And theres a real disconnect there.
It's a bad situation and it's going to get uncomfortable.

Totally agree... You may love a pet, and take no pleasure in putting it down if it's the right thing to do. The fact remains that the end has come.
The first TD last night was just such a play...No chance Eli makes a play like this.

Eli’s stats in 2005-2007 pissed off a lot of giants fans yet the guy was winning! Averaging approx 10 wins per year yet all we heard was idiotic over analytical asshole fans rip this guy apart day after day.
Eli’s stats in 2014-2015 were terrific yet the giants lost a lot. Stats weren’t as good in 2016 yet the team won. Stats are gonna he swell this year yet the giants won’t win 6 games.
Lies damn lies and statistics. Learn your lesson.
Seriously. Shut up. I watch more than enough football to know our OLs is one of the worst in football. Your idea that jailbreaks "always" happen is full of shit. They dont ALWAYS happen. And there are a LOT of good OLs in the league. Many that are MUCH MUCH MUCH better than ours.
Get out of here with that shit already.
Eli's been bad for four years. That "satisfaction" you're sensing on the part of others is most likely coming from the fact that, after last night, the unconditional Eli apologists are finally starting to accept reality.

Eli is my all time favorite Giant. But that player is long gone. He’s toast and they need to move on.
Maybe if he played better he wouldn't be going out like this. Just a thought.
He has always laid eggs at some point in every season, and for whatever reason alot of those eggs come against the Eagles.
He will finish the season where he always does. 3000-3500yds, 60% completion. 25 tD, 15-20 INT
A Jailbreak would be great! Eli would have the same amount of time to throw but at least there would be fewer guys in coverage.
Great comment. If that happened at my job, I'd be very unhappy, and my job doesn't involve physical harm and a career that could end on any given play.

Kidding right?
Are you pleased with his play? I love Eli but his play has not been good.
trust me there is no satisfaction here. but being objective and correct on Eli's demise - doesn't make you a " "fan" ".
you can be both a fan and objective. try it.
So yeah I bet everyone of these diva spoiled me first stars is blaming the old guy now.
All I can say is I don’t see these selfish players as a correlation to winning super bowls w any QB thst comes in bc they are already so spoiled and weak-minded and don’t have the team mentality it takes to win.
Eli needs to be replaced, but I don’t see the core of this team thst is tainted by Odell Beckham ever winning anything until he is gone,
I said it from his first year on other sites, it’s very hard to win championships w diva me-first wide receivers.
True. And this culture won’t change w the supposed changed ODB running the show.
He hasn't changed at all, he just got smart and shut his nought until he got paid
Like...winning.
Win some fucking games. And to the owner/front office, FIX THE TEAM. They've had 6 years to fix it. Now, actually do it. How inept are they? THAT's the real problem. But simple minds get distracted to what the real issues are.
