What does everyone think about the 2018 QB’s?

Oscar : 10/12/2018 1:18 pm
My opinion before the draft was that a QB was the right move because Eli was close to done and it’s the most important position. They drafted Saquon who looks like a phenom, but he can only do so much.

My question is what do you guys think about the early returns on these QB’s? I know it’s early and a real assessment will take years, but what do you see now?

Let’s exclude Baker Mayfield (who looks good) because he was never an option for the Giants. That leaves Darnold, Allen and Rosen. What do you think so far?
I expected Rosen to be the best

but he has done little so far. Darnold has flashed and I think he will be the best of the bunch.
They have been ok

Rosen
Darnold
Allen
That would be my order
Darnold has looked better than I thought he would look so early

on. He's had his moments, but overall he hasn't looked great.

None have really impressed. Rosen looks good but his O-Line is shit and I don't think he has the longevity needed in a franchise QB (think Sam Bradford).

Allen's erratic.

But it would be hypocritical of me to dump on rookie QBs.
Mayfield has looked good

Darnold has looked good. Haven’t seen Allen or Rosen.

Year two will be more telling in that All four are in complete rebuilds.
Six games

This is going to take time to gain perspective.
Mayfield

is the best of the bunch. The eye doesn't not lie.
Darnold will be a good one

He’s the youngest starting QB ever taking over as a rookie for a team coming off back to back 5 win seasons. They lack talent at the skills positions and I don’t thing to coaching is very good their either. He will get a lot better, just as Goff and Wentz did.
Going into the draft

The 2 QB's I liked were Darnold (if a team was willing to sit him for a year like the Giants had done with Eli) and Mayfield. Nothing to date has changed my opinion. That being said, Barkley has exceeded my expectations. I was worried that we would end up with something more like Todd Gurley's second year than Ezekiel Elliott's rookie year. While that would have been an improvement over past years, I was not sure if that was worth the 2nd overall pick and paying a RB that much. Had I known prior to Free Agency what I know now, I would have drafted Barkley and made sure I had a better back-up than Alex Taney. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Teddy Bridgewater were both signed to 1 year deals in March. In the case of Bridgewater, his contract only had $500K guaranteed so if we drafted a QB who was going to slide into the back-up role you could cut him for minimal investment.
I know you're asking

about this year's QBs, but I think I like the idea of getting Barkley this year and a QB next year.

Having Barkley will make it easier on a rookie QB.
We're going to regret

passing on Darnold for a long long time. Just as I said on draft night.
