Could he be a place holder next year until we find our next quarterback of the future? No matter what you think of his kneeling for anthem he does check some of the boxes for a QB these days.
But he's not a starting QB in the NFL. Plus Mara is probably not a fan of the kneeling and there are parts of this city that will riot if we sign him. You thought benching Eli caused an uproar...
If he was a great player he would be playing in the league right now, but what he's capable of producing on the field isn't enough to tolerate the controversy.
Plus most of your fanbase would hate him due to his past ignorant statements and associations with radicals, his support of those who murder police officers etc.
In good enough shape, but I think this would be awesome. First, just the effing circus would inject some life into the season. And he can run fast, which would help. Chuck it deep and inaccurately.
If we ever won a game it would be amazing when he took a knee to end it. I'm so down for this
We get to waste more cap space which prevents DG from signing another Omameh/Stewart next year?
It's not even like CK is young and could be the future (if he didn't suck). There's 0 upside to this move, either:
a) he sucks as much or more and you endured the circus for nothing
b) he's marginally more effective than Eli and they win an extra game or 2 hurting their draft prospects
He's not good, and hasn't played in quite a while Â
He would be a fool to play again and ruin his reputation.
That too. People seem to think he was much better than he was.
Yeah he was a struggling QB who was on his way out of the league. Some refuse to admit that he wasn't good. He lost the starting job to Blaine Gabbert for christ sakes.
And politics aside, he's getting paid a ton by Nike just to be a pretty face. Pretty good gig. Why would he even want to go back to the grind of a football career now?
Replacing Saint Eli with CK would be a PR nightmare, but this team needs a mobile QB, and Kaepernick would make this team interesting again.
I know it's never going to happen, but imagining the excitement is better than dealing with the reality that's more painful to watch with each game.
Giants fans aren’t going anywhere. We will complain, bitch, and moan all day but we’ll find our way back in front of a TV cheering this team on. It’s part of being a fan.
Plus. I’d give People a reason to watch the Giants and keep prime time
games cause whether they like or hate Kap they are gonna want to know how he’s doing. Plus Kaepernick/Barkley/OBJ RPOs? Yes please!

I can't really imagine it.

Why would you invite that circus in?
Because a circus is more fun than a car wreck. :)
Where the hell does that make any sense?
This. Amazing how many people overlook that.
+1

Not with this OL

Sort of like during Loouuuu Pinella or Luuuuke Voit at bats.

Fucking Kaepernick
Hasn’t he heard from the same season ticket holders about Eli?
Quote:
Right or wrong, Mara has been pretty clear that he has heard from season ticket holders about Kaep. He will not be a Giant.
Hasn’t he heard from the same season ticket holders about Eli?
He did hear from them last year after Eli was benched.

Eli on the bench and Kap in the game? Half the fan base would burn down the stadium
Where the hell does that make any sense?
When you throw shit at the wall, sometimes it sticks. Of course it always stinks.
