And teams who play us is the interior of the OL.

Greco and Omameh are either beaten cleaned or pushed back in the pocket. However other teams have a nice clean pocket to step up into.

Hill has flashed in rushing the passer. Tomlinson has been invisible. Snacks really isn’t a pass rushing DT.

I like Bettcher. I think he has a track record of good defenses. Just need to improve the lb's some more and get a functioning free safety.

unbelievable if so.. the ONLY things reese could do reliably well as GM was hit on picks at the DT and WR positions.. did he even lose his fastball on that as the years moved on.. both tomlinson and shepard have underwhelmed.

the giants could use about 7 new starters on offense and 7 on defense.. even another offseason won't get them halfway there..

but how do you think the defense will perform when they get off the field long enough for a 3-and-out and back on again? How many more possessions does our defense need to face because we cannot control the clock?

Bottom 3rd in NFL.

Giants have had the ball an average 16 seconds less per game than their opponent.

This notion the defense is gassed is a pure myth.

Yeah, I read and here this a lot and it is not true. The defense is not tired, it just is not good. They also only played one half on Thursday. They packed it in for the second half.

I am not certain why

They play well in spurts but it is not consistent and they seem to come up short in critical situations

I like Betcher and I think he has a really good scheme
But I am worried that the scheme has been dumbed down

I am not seeing some of the more sophisticated zone blitzes that he was known for

One glaring problem is the poor tackling
The corners are not just bad they are awful tacklers
Not only are the corners poor at tackling the Giants with the exception of Wynn, Snacks, Hiil And Collins they are all poor tacklers

Betcher was always able to create mismatches by overloading one side of the line and freeing players

You do not see players running free after the QB
This may be that the his corners and safeties are not covering

I am more concerned about the defense then I am about the offense

Let's be real for a moment how many times have they been placed in a situation where the opponent basically needs 1 or 2 1st downs and they scored .... lets not forget the Saints game ... high powered O held time and time again to FGs which were from a SHORT field to begin with.

The are humans not robots and football is an emotional sport.

Not to mention fatigue from all those NYG 3 and outs.

7 new starters would get them to OK. Football is coaching, coaching and coaching and nothing about this crew leads me to believe we will see any improvement soon. How many times can a D-Coordinator watch a D-Back chase a receiver across the field before you change something? Totally agree. My feeling is they get pumped for the game and Eli does something stupid and the whole team says "here we go again" and just give up. I have never seen a team quit so early in a game as this team.

The first few drives of Thursday's game, Wentz could get anything done because of the rush. I think the secondary is OK (needs depth of course) when the QB has less time to throw.

Secondary is far from OK. 3rd and 8 they run a slant and get 9. 3rd and 14 same exact play, 4 plays later, and they get 16. Jenkins has slipped more times than he has deflected a ball. And when he doesnt slip he is chasing a receiver across the field. When did he get so bad? Eli Apple can never be good unless he goes to New England and plays for a real coach.

I think we should go back to 4-3 defense. 3-4 is not generating any pass rush, its supposed to be better for run game and we are still worse in the league at that.

Instead of BJ Hill, Snacks and Tomlinson on the DL gatta just keep 2 of them then OV, Carter, Barwin on the edges instead of just having 1 of the 3.
I did notice they put OV Carter and Barwin on the DL for 3rd and longs

% in the league. Number 21 in giving up yards per catch. Yes they suck.

then we have a lot of losers on defense. they had a chance to clinch a game last week for us and faiiled. Over 30 points the last 3 games. The first two weeks were a mirage since we played two awful offenses.

as some point if the team feels it's hopeless it is natural to take the pedal off a little and maybe try not to get hurt. and we all knew including the defense that that game was over at half-time

and dep can't accept this, because this logic and truth would place some blame for the defense quitting on Eli and dep won't ever consider that as a possibility

They just seem so toothless. I guess its the entire team - but the defense just seems like there’s no one on the entire unit with any nasty. And the heck happened to Landon Collins? The whole team seem like a bunch of pussies.

Back in the mid 80's when the Giants were first starting to turn the corner the offense often could not move the ball at all. That Defense never gave in and often would find a way to win the game on their own. This Giants defense is just not good at all. Not to mention fatigue from all those NYG 3 and outs.

Can anyone remember? We are near the bottom in takeaways, 3rd down stops---how many have we had? Collin's is playing like he doesn't want to get hurt going into his contract year. Never thought I would say this but Eli Apple is our best cover. And our pass rush is non existent with or without sending 5. Wentz was standing flat footed and taking 3 or 4 reads. Eli sucked Thursday and it hurts me to say this that its time for a change. Not sure the results will change but for Eli's health it's time. Let someone else get the shit kicked out of them. Let's see what OBJ does with another QB because he sure seems to believe the world circles around him.
He is a problem and I am tired of hearing him tell me how he hates to lose. He is a cancer for this team and we are now stuck with him for years to come. Barkley is taking his spotlight and it is just going to get worse for OBJ.
