I've been cringing every time OBJ receives a punt, especially the dicey ones. If he gets injured because of this -- I know that I for one will be disgusted to lose one of the premier receivers in the NFL.
Is this a good usage of his talents? Curious to know what the rest of you think about this?

for a guy who does not seem to have his head in the game.
his head is absolutely in the game. Implying he'd get hurt for lack of awareness is ridiculous
Has nothing to do with injuries, he hasnt shown he can even catch a punt. And if you think his head is in the game because he bangs it against an air conditioning unit then maybe you should rethink that. His head is into OBJ, tough to watch him on the sidelines.
He's a great talent, but GREAT PLAYERS are consistent. One or two flashy plays a game don't make up for the f*** ups.
Also, our defense isn't exactly forcing teams to do a lot of punting so he is being "protected" by our defense being so terrible.
I don't Agree with this. Barkley can be one helluva piece for this offense for years to come. In a crap season like this I don't think extra risk is a good choice. If this team had a chance to compete I would understand using key players in spots like that.
Just because you are good at one thing, doesn’t mean you are good at another
Really poor decision by Shurmur. Smacks of desperation
Plus, Giants just gave Odell 65 million in guaranteed money. Why would they put hm at a high risk position like punt returner, especially when he sucks
When it's a shorter field and he's trying to take one out from the 5 just to try and break one it's probably a riskier decision both field position and injury wise.
I was sitting right behind the endzone when he screwed up the punt in Carolina. He miss read it off the punters foot right from the beginning which made me question his return instincts. He's immensely talented, but maybe lacking some situational awareness at a position he is not used to playing. (Unless he was trying to fake out the Carolina players into thinking it was going the other direction. But then why run back to the ball once it lands?)
I'd also say once we're mathematically eliminated there is no reason to chance him back there.
We need an actual punt returner.
