Back in the day, that's my day late 70's 80's. The Giants had some pretty bad Offences but the D played hard to my memory ALL the time.
Last year as we all know there where several games where the D appeared to quit. DG has cut a large portion or the roster due to lack of talent and also to improve the attitude of the team.
My question to my fellow BBI readers is who on the D is quitting or not giving maximum effort? IMO I think Jenkins can blanket any receiver but constantly avoids contact and is currently unfocused. Apple also looks to avoid tackling.
I'm not saying we would have won but the way Barkley started running the ball If our D made some stops, hung in there force a turn over or two who knows but not giving maximum effort against a divisional rival? The Super bowl champs? GTFOH!
You didn't see some of the games last year?
Rams and 49ers games didn't strike you as odd?
Giants have not been dominated in TOP this year, the idea the defense is tired does not hold water. They just are not that good. Is the offensive ineptitude the reason for the horrid special teams too?
Jenkins yes, Apple no. Jenkins was flat out awful. Apple got beat a couple times, but played. Of course, Jenkins had two very questionable PIs called on him (on accepted) so probably deflated him some. But He seemed to be trailing his guy all night.
I haven't been watching a lot of other teams lately so I didn't have much for comparison purposes. Then, after Aikman weighed in during the third quarter, I said, Aha.
Don't know if it's quit, coaching, talent or some combination of the three but with the exception of a few players, my sense is that our intensity is just not there.
Why do people continue to try and make excuses for this disaster of an organization? They quit on Thursdays, they quit on Sundays and wait till Monday. Right after Eli fumbles or throws an interception. They will quit again
How the hell did you guys remain sentient throughout the completion of this game?
To quote recent testimony, I didn't blackout...I just fell asleep.....
Apple ducks - Jenkins was pouting after he had a flag thrown on him, and never recovered like he was making a point.
Collins and Snacks played with full effort.
there were drives where the offense was done in 30 seconds off the game clock, and then Philly took 10 min.
They stopped running the ball .
With no TE they have to get Lattimer involved even if it's
shorter stuff just get some positive yards he can't be your
#2 WR and get only 3 throws his way all game long .
If he gets involved it will force them to not rotate towards
OBJ and pull them out of two high safety .
I still think they should have brought back Jerrell Adams
better than Scott Simonson ...
Did you see the last game at Giants stadium When Matt More whipped HOF TC defense.. That D was way worse then thursday
Some of those 1990s defenses were exposed too when it counted.
When you have an offense that is completely inept, you can play vanilla on offense.
Yeah Barkley gatta stop hitting home runes so the defense can rest. If only he wasnt so fast and powerful he would go down more. I expect he will only get better so defense will never rest, as soon as offense on the field...2-3 plays and Barkley is gone. Defense be like damn give us a break LOL
If the D quit then its up to the coaches/FO to make it right...
The NYG of today has seemingly more talent on both sides of the ball than those days, but neither the O nor the D unit gives the NYG any more identity than the other. Barkley and Beckham can change that, but they alone haven’t been enough thus far to change a losing culture that keeps growing. Eli says all the right things and offers the road map to success, but is losing his ability to execute. The entire team lacks cohesion and single purpose - playing for each other.
