Tyree Jackson QB Buffalo

uncledave : 10/13/2018 8:25 pm
I haven't gotten too deep into my "scouting" process but this kid has really looked the part from a high level. Curious to hear the BBI take on this kid. Some clips on Youtube to check out if you want. At 6-7 245lbs, and a natural ability to run, tackles below the belt are obviously a big injury concern. The same concerns were expressed for Cam Newton during that draft class, but Cam is noticeably stronger and carries more muscle all around. Will be fun watching this guys stock rise especially during/after the combine process, if he elects to declare.
Quick highlights from last season - ( New Window )
He's basically Josh Allen

Raw as it gets. Sure, the talent is there. He's 6'7, mobile, has a rocket for an arm, but he needs a TON of development.
Didn't impress me vs. Army

We'll have to see how he progresses through the year.
He hit his receivers in stride and fit some balls ...

... in tigjt coverage. That was impressive. Definitely some interesting QBs this year unlike what we were told the past year.

version of Byron Leftwich. Developmental prospect. Not for the Giants. Franchise QB or none.

He sounds like Jay Buhner!
Well supposedly Buffalo

Had him at 64mph in arm velocity which would put him above Josh Allen's combine record of 62mph and also ahead of Wentz(57) and Mahomes(55). Not sure how accurate they are at measuring that away from the combine, but he does seem to have a cannon and when you watch him he looks a lot like Josh Allen with his throws. His numbers also look very Josh Allen with only a 57 completion % and a lot of inconsistency.

He probably needs to stay at Buffalo another year. Allen was a senior and wisely stayed an extra year. But he might start getting hype.

Fantastic -- got a genuine laugh from me
Anyone who thinks the Giants should take a qb should consider that he

would have to play behind this awful oline. Bring in a new qb and after he is 0 - 5 he will be labeled a bust, you know it's going to happen!
very raw, didn't see mobility

Brock oswilter and essentially he said when he was a Scout the rule of thumb is to automatically write off any qb 6’7 or taller since their delivery is too slow. He said 6’6 was fringe for that but that no one in nfl history has ever been that tall and successful
