and may sit behind Patterson if he stays. Plus, their true freshman, Joe Milton, is getting a ton of hype.
An interesting football family.

Ed McCaffrey was a wideout for the Giants, Niners and Broncos.
Oldest son Max was an undrafted free agent who was with various teams and was waived/injured this past August.
Christian is a rb/receiver for the Panthers who we faced last Sunday.
Dylan is getting his feet wet as a Michigan qb.
Luke has committed to Nebraska and is a qb.

Patterson should come out in the draft. He will not improve his standing by staying at Michigan another year.

Gee. Thanks Dan. Tommy Maddox was a good call though.ok. Him cutting numerous good players for his draft mistakes was the norm. Ed was just the most obvious.
Word out of Michigan is that McCaffrey looks really good throwing

the rock as well. I'm sure he's got a ways to go, but when he first got there, he was pretty raw. No way Milton overtakes him IMO. In fact, if Patterson decides to stay another year, I think his job could be in jeopardy.
Nice to have those sprinter genes

His maternal grandfather:

“During an injury-plagued career, Duke’s Dave Sime never won a major championship, but was undoubtedly one of the fastest sprinters of his time. He equalled the world record of 9.3 for 100y three times, set world records of 20.1 and 20.0 for 220y straight, and equalled the world record of 22.2 for 220y hurdles. After a poor start in the 1960 Olympic 100 metre final, Dave Sime narrowly failed to catch world record holder, [Armin Hary] of West Germany at the tape. He also ran a great anchor leg in the relay to make up a two meter-deficit on the West Germans, but although Sime broke the tape in a world record, the Americans were disqualified for a faulty change-over on the first pass.”
