Interesting thought

GoDeep13 : 10/14/2018 1:46 pm
Would you approach the Colts with a Big offer for Andrew Luck? Two 1sts (2019, 2020) 2020 2nd, 2020 3rd?

Get some pass rushers in FA (Dee Ford, maybe Clowney)

Draft OL in 2nd and 3rd.

Add corner depth with remaining picks/FA money.
For what reason?

Not only is he coming off a very serious injury but he hasn't shown to be the same QB yet. Not to mention that his cap number is huge. Why trade the potential 1st overall pick and future picks that this team desperately needs for him? The 1st round pick QB will have a well below market cap number for 5 years which will allow the Giants to build up the rest of the roster.

I hate rebuilding years, cause then we have to deal with threads like these.

You mean suck for Luck? Didn't the Colts do that and
Blue21 : 10/14/2018 3:53 pm : link
they still suck.
Umm
mdthedream : 10/14/2018 4:39 pm : link
if we could get him yes. They have no talent and he still throws 4 tds.

If you want to fix the catastrophe that is the NY Giants

Then fix the OL go all in on OL in the draft. Start a bunch of rookies from the the draft next yeat. We will still suck because of the growing pains, and have a high draft slot in 2020 where we get a QB. And by then the OL should hopefully be at least competent for the rookie QB.

Such a hardship having to read a opinion by another Giants fan he feels to be absurd.

Go deep. Probably a better avenue would be to get their own young quarterback like they did with Simms and then Eli

the offensive line that coughlin and accorsi built in 2004/2005 was a combination of draft picks and free agents. nothing wrong with going that route, even though solder and omameh appear to be whiffs. they unloaded pugh richburg hart, jerry, fluker and then flowers, they had to field a unit somehow. i didn't like trading brett jones, but they gutted pretty much the whole unit. need to upgrade C, RG, RT this offseason. hopefully demote wheeler and greco to backups.

It's not just an absurd opinion that bothers me. It doesn't fit under the salary cap, and why would you give up valuable rebuilding resources for a 29 year old quarterback with an injury history like Luck?

Forgive me if I want this website to have a bit of realism to its topics.

Yeah we could... I am just thinking this team has so many needs, that it needs the high draft capital for 2 more drafts. So, we already know we suck for high choices this year. Maybe trade down and pick up some OL. Their growing pains pretty much guarantees that we suck next year too... Then get a QB in 2020. Hopefully, by then all the OL picks have come into their own. I would hate to get a stud prospect, throw him behind this line and create David Carr 2.0.
