Infuriating to watch how the Pats know their QB and protect him. Never got suckered in to “modernizing”
its what any good organization does: recognize a core competency and let that dictate personnel and resources. In the Pats case if you are a rob who can’t catch or a olineman who can’t pass block or a wideout who does not run good routes you are replaced no matter what else you can do.

Well you lost me with your last paragraph. His talent on offense is among the best in the league when healthy. Even just having Gordon stretch the field is a huge plus for them.
Very true. I put most of this on Reese AND Ross. Not Mara. They’re gone now but look at who is receiving all the punchlines and body blows from their poor decisions. Our QB. It’s sickening

I did and I'll die on that hill. I don't see the Patriots in the SB this year. This Chiefs team and the Chargers are better football teams when healthy. The Jags were before injuries hit their OL. I think people are overreacting to a nice run against a flat Miami team, getting the Colts at home on Thursday night and facing a banged up Chiefs team with extra rest for their 3rd staight home game. It's nice stretch for them to show out. They'll obviously be in the mix in January but I don't see them as the top dog in their conference or in their league anymore.

I'm not sure what version of football you've been watching if you think the "modern" game has ever not prioritized protecting the QB.
