...on 28 carries?
I watched each and every one. Here are my observations:
(1) Obviously he is a great running back;
(2) Plays with vision, balance, power, speed and determination;
(3) On several runs, no one on Denver laid a hand on him in the backfield;
(4) Translation: Todd Gurley was up to full power mode by the time he was 1 yard past the LOS;
(5) IMO, had Saquon Barkley been given the exact same 28 opportunities behind the Rams front line, the one-game NFL rushing record of 296 yards would have been shattered.
Thanks Jerry.
Thanks Jerry.
I think we really need a pinned "Vent about Jerry Reese" thread for like the next 6 months. Engram over Ramczyk, Flowers, David Wilson. Like a punching bag thread.
Thanks Jerry.
Or they had concerns about him maintaining his level of play and staying healthy at 36+. They just had a slew of OL whose bodies started breaking down well before that (Snee, Diehl, etc.) and were likely gun shy because of it.

There were heavy concerns that flowers sucked balls. Reese didn’t want to see it.
Thanks Jerry.
He would have come here and immediately started to suck. We are a black hole that sucks all the ability out of offensive line players.

I’m all for it if it would stop the excessive JR complaining in every other thread!
And while we’re at it let’s add a Lombardi appreciation thread as well!
Thanks Jerry.
Andrew Whitworth played like an absolute stud yesterday. He makes all of the blocks in-line, downfield, you name it.

Those 2 things aren't mutually exclusive.

That’s kind of how I see it as well. Lots of bad decisions, lots of rotten luck. Whitqorth is a guy I understand not making a play for, his age was a legit concern, not sure why people don’t understand that.
I'm definitely guilty as charged for over-talking on this web site. And, yes, Barkley vs Gurley, but I didn't want to just say it out of respect for Todd Gurley who is a wonderful RB.
Thanks Jerry.
We didn't have enough money to get Whitworth and the guy is 36+ years old.
Lol. Ok.
And starting when this season is over with, the Giants will have none of the three.
The rebuilding will only truly be on track when those three pieces of the puzzle are filled.
Thanks Jerry.
Whitworth would have been a fraction of the cost of Solder. Maybe 60% to 75% of Solder at most.
That's behind an OL that was getting Barkley hit a pathetic 6 inches after he took the handoff thru 3(?) games.
I hope we can emulate the Rams rise to power, but it appears they made a brilliant coaching hire. I doubt it's the kind of hire we'd ever see here.

David Wilson over Cordy Glenn
Clint Sintim over Max Unger
Sterling Sheppard over Michael Thomas

The Rams were terrible when Gurley came into the league. Now they're good. It didn't take long, and I doubt any Rams fans are unhappy they have him.

They were quite talented too after years of sucking. And Jeff Fisher was a shitty, massively overrated coach.
I like McVay, but let's not underestimate the talent on the team he took over plus the talent they brought in with all the cap space. He inherited a team with:
Goff
Gurley
Donald
Saffold
Quinn
Zuerlein
Hekker
Havenstein
Brockers
Barron
Joyner
And then they acquired these players before his first full season:
Whitworth
Sullivan
Kupp
And then still had the cap space to add Cooks/Peters/Suh this year (and Talib, but he's on IR).
Don't get me wrong, McVay looks like the next great coach, but that team is loaded in talent.
Thanks Jerry.
No. Mara didn’t want to pay whitworth after paying Jenkins, JPP, and Vernon. But keep blaming Jerry

but unfortunel;atly RB's aren't difference makers. QB's OT's and DE's are difference makers.
Lol. Ok.
Haha. Yeah, Gurley doesn’t make a difference. Just plug in Zac Stacy, they’d be just fine.
Correct. And in 2016 when the Ram OL was garbage Gurley sucked. Barkley >>>>>>>>>>>>> Gurley.

Where did Mara state that he didn't want to pay Whitworth and where did he state that he put the brakes on Reese?

Bullshit. At Reese’s bumbling conference at the midway point that season he specifically said he didn’t go after Whitworth bc they “wanted to get younger along the OL.”
Had absolutely nothing to do with money.

that Gurley was not touched until he was already 8 yards or so past scrimmage.

Stan still looking for another angle to dis Barkley and he gets trashed yet again.
Bwahaaaaaaa 😂
