NFT: Brooklyn Nets

Hoping for the best, which in the Nets case means another year of slow, steady climb back towards respectability after the horror show following the Garnett/Pierce trade, quite possibly the worst in league history. Optimistic for solid years out of DRussell, Allen, RHJ, Caris (could be a breakout year for him). Like some of the new additions: Davis, Graham, Napier. Sticking with the rebuild plan of Marks/Atkinson, I think they’re doing a good job. And next year, we have our own 1st round pick (finally!) plus Denver’s plus a ton of cap space. Barring critical injuries, I think we get to at least 35 wins this year. Wondering what other Brooklyn fans are thinking.
Big year for the franchise

They need to decide on dinwiddie, dlo, and rhj extensions—- my hope is somebody trades for rhj but that’s unlikely-solid gadget player with no range
I think Allen and levert become “household names”- Allen has sky is limit potential.
Ideally they see a lot from dlo as it would mean they can have the backcourt set—- dinwiddie is a good trade chip if they can get a stretch —- Carroll also has value to a contender
Regardless- they play a pleasing style and compete- and they all have bought in.
I think 35-38 wins and depends on health.
I was a Nets fan back in the 90s..

when the team was a team. I used to watch every game. I have not watched a single game in over a decade and could not name one player on that team.

They’re somewhere in the 30-40 win range and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Love this team.
make or break year for Russell should be interesting

Dinwiddie too but to a lesser degree. Should be a fun team to watch as they start transitioning to being more competitive for free agents and with assets to trade (but hopefully not for Jimmy Butler).
Amazing

What marks did with this team. Still a very long way from being good, but digging out of that hole so quickly is remarkable. Young team with a good cap sheet and plus draft assets.

His attention to detail is tremendous. Picking up 2nd round picks like the zeller and Booker deals, signing smart small contracts like dinwiddie, Harris (orignally), davis, etc. Creating the space then executing the Denver deal. Just amazing.

The big move of getting russell was a worthwile gamble but has not paid off yet. Very interesting year coming up for him, epscially having a huge cap hold in an off-season when the nets want to use cap space. He needs to take big steps.

Plus coaching is smart. Nets took the second best shot profile in the league last year. Still have a long way go, but I'm so impressed with this group its an easy team to root for.
Will be interesting how minutes are spread

As they have some guys that should be in the 30s but they also have way more depth this year
I expect a few trades once we get into the new year

Agreed. Faried would probably put up the best stat line on the team if he started, but it sounds like he's going to be more of the backup C. I'm personally hoping Carroll is the guy that ends up getting pushed to the bench for Levert.

I've only seen highlights but Kurocs has been a lot more interesting than expected too. So I agree they seem setup to make a few trades around the deadline.
