MNF: 49ers at Packers

Karl Hungus : 10/15/2018 6:37 pm
Is there any reason I shouldn't bet my entire home equity line of credit on the Packers money line?

id love it so much if you did that. ive never met you and dont even recognize your handle and id be way more interested in this game than any of the last few Giants games.

As unpredictable as the NFL is week to week I wouldn’t bet $1 on this game

Rodgers gets obliterated 2nd snap of the game, doesn't wake up until 10 pm.......Karl's chin would be Hungus.
a SF win would knock out over a third

Of the remaining entries in my massively-unrealistic-to-win survivor pool.

So GO...er....CJ Beathard?
Beathard is pretty good

and Packers leaning on the late round rookies at WR. SF could win this.

I want to see more of the big WR Scantling. I think the Packers found a late round gem here.

Big game for Aaron Jones coming tonight, methinks.

They need to stop wasting touches on Williams. Jones is far superior as a runner. Use him as the hammer and work Montgomery in on passing downs.
I'd be shocked if SF won...
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 10/15/2018 8:12 pm : link
Then again, I'm the same dude who got knocked out of his survivor pool taking the Jags yesterday so what the hell do I know?
Breida

That was fast

Rodgers throws on the run are something else. Best I’ve ever seen.
Thanks UConn and AllStarJim and YAJ

Got Breida in last minute.

Need at least two more tds from beathard and Breida. How about beathard to breida

Agree about Jones. His explosiveness adds much more than Williams. Throw him the ball too. He’s excellent in space.
Loves the goal Line play by GB
KWALL2 : 10/15/2018 8:35 pm : link
Isolate Graham on one side and the easy td to the other. That’s a ream with a red zone plan.

Rodgers is so damn good.
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 10/15/2018 8:53 pm : link
That said, if I'm a Packers fan, his tenure would leave me a bit unsatisfied right now. He's an all time great & only has 1 Super Bowl. They've left titles on the table.

You can blame McCarthy for that, he’s an abysmal GM and a suspect HC.

Agreed. Bad defense and poor o-line play/running game for the most of his tenure.
49ers have some explosive skill players
KWALL2 : 10/15/2018 8:58 pm : link
Kittle and Goodwin along with the RB. They have some weapons.

I think Beathard has potential. He hasn't had many complete games, but he's shined at times and made several throws that impressed me.
Was there a penalty on the missed EP
Chris684 : 10/15/2018 9:04 pm : link
for the niners?
I can't believe they're calling that TD toss to Montgomery...
Milton : 10/15/2018 9:04 pm : link
...a lateral. That ball traveled a lot further in the air than it did on the ground!

He let it go inside the 5 yard line, and the guy caught it behind the 5 yard line. So it's a lateral.
more precisely it is a backward pass
ray in arlington : 10/15/2018 9:25 pm : link
since the term "lateral" is not used in the rule book to describe this.
The Packers clearly hate Aaron Jones.
jgambrosio : 10/15/2018 9:33 pm : link
Not sure why he isn't on the field all the time.

Not to turn this into an Eli bashing or general Giants bashing thread, but to me the deficiencies are more glaring when you watch OTHER games even moreso than when you watch the Giants games. Its just more athletic, energetic, younger feeling.

I think Rodgers has had enough of a team to appear in more than one SB considering who he is.

I think this is a philosophical thing a lot of these teams have.

They see their franchise QB and they believe he can overcome everything from poor o-line play, to a lack of running game, to poor defense.

The Packers have been incredibly poorly coached and lacking in overall talent for years with the idea that Rodgers alone can take them there.

This will end just live Favre's tenure. A feeling of that more should have been won.
Need more Breida please.

If the Packers guy on the hands team would have caught the onside kick, they would have been in another SB.
He’s never had anything close to those
UConn4523 : 10/15/2018 9:48 pm : link
Peyton Manning Colts teams. Rodgers has basically had no running game and suspect TEs almost his entire career. Of all the star QBs over the past 20 years I think it’s clear he’s had the least talent to work with.
Rodgers
crick n NC : 10/15/2018 9:51 pm : link
Is a different player than Peyton Manning. Packers for the most part have chosen a lack of run game. Rodgers and McCarthy love to throw the ball to a fault at times

Doesn't Boogers lazy boy with all the wide advertising behind him obstruct views of high priced seats behind him?
Amazing what a mobile QB can do.
Beezer : 10/15/2018 10:09 pm : link
Interesting game.

I admit I now watch non-Giants games comparing QB mobility and how it affects things.
You don’t measure the greatness
KWALL2 : 10/15/2018 10:12 pm : link
By SBs. It’s a team game. Rodgers is right there with the best ever. Only 1 SB doesn’t change it.

Put him in Brady’s shoes or Montana. That’s a talent upgrade and they probably win more.
Wow

Anyone wondering if thread starter bet that HELOC loan on the Pack?

Can't be happy right now if he did.
That sack Rodgers just took

Is exactly the kind of jailbreak Eli gets killed for not evading by the fanbase, the media and even a lot of these analysts.

From that standpoint, the Giants averaging less the 20 is throwback to the old days!
SF hanging tough somehow.

I thought that too a few weeks ago.

But he has a great gig...an elevatedseat on the sidelines that moves to the LOS.
Either the Niners are pretty damned

I tend to agree, but a receiver was like 2 yards away.
He just put
