Have some of the worst defenses in the league.
Now those who contends Eaison has a slanted anti Eli view are probably correct. He often makes veiled comments that portray Eli and the Giants in a bad light.
However, he s not always wrong. In this particular case he believes the Giants offense will come alive, possibly resulting in wins that would take them out of an excellent draft position along with reinforcing the Giants belief that going forth with Eli is the correct decision.
In any case the next 4 games will be telling if the Giants offense continues to struggle, or if they play well enough to get season back on track
Then a week later, Eli will be 25/44, 189, 0tds, 3 picks.
The fool’s good effect having struck again....
this....
With that said, the more mobile QBs normally have the ability to at least extend plays with their legs. Eli does not have that ability and never really did. He was good previously at stepping up in the pocket and getting the ball downfield letting his receivers make plays on the ball. His immobility, along with this Oline are just not a good match.
The Saints Pass Defense was also considered very poor and they did a number on our offense too. You just don't know how this offense is going to respond and so even if those defenses are poor, that doesn't automatically mean offensive success. I'm hoping Shurmur makes the proper adjustments in the offensive game-plan to allow Eli and the offense to be successful.
I would like to see them focus on Barkley and the ground game finally. If you can’t pass on a cover 2, you should be able to pound the shit out of it by running!!
I'm guessing he's a bit sour at not being able to cash in at the same rate.
LOL

Atlanta (#8 in total offense)
Washington (Giants will probably beat them)
San Fran (Beathard put up 31 on them last year when they were 0-8 and had no talent)
Tampa Bay (#2 in total offense)
And one that is through, they face the Eagles again and you can go ahead and write in the score of that one.
As the other poster mentioned...they played this "terrible" defense in the Saints and only scored 10 points for the first 55+ minutes.

I agree with most of your post. But the crazy picks will only happen if he starts taking shots downfield which people will like. He's been keeping the ball relatively safe this year with all the short garbage plays.
Game 1 vs Jacksonville. Offense moves the ball on Jaguars defense. Just can't finish.
Game 2 vs Dallas. Offense sucks.
Game 3 vs Houston. Offense comes to life, puts up 20 by halftime. Giants win.
Game 4 vs Saints. Offense sucks vs terrible Saints' defense.
Game 5 vs Panthers. Offense comes up life, puts up 31.
Game 6 vs Eagles. Offense sucks vs injured Eagles secondary.
Game 7 vs Falcons. ?????

Eli is due for one of those out-of-nowhere great games when he lights it up with 450+, 3-4tds, and great on third down. And then his die hard supporters will crawl out of their holes and say “Look, he’s still got it. We just need to be patient. He’s finding his groove. He seems more confident. This is why he needs to be extended....yada yada yada...” You really can write the script.
Then a week later, Eli will be 25/44, 189, 0tds, 3 picks.

I’m an Eli fan, I think he’s declining fast, I still think this O-Line SUCKS! and I DON’T believe one Eli fan on this board or anywhere would say HE NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED! I don’t care if he lit the league up!
What about Eli, as a man, do you think he doesn't like?

This is kind of like what happened last year.
That now infamous Philadelphia game that appeared to spearhead all of this "He's still got it" stuff, was followed up the very next week by a horror show in Arizona.
But for some, it was as if the Arizona game never happened.
This year, a lot has been made of the Houston and Carolina games, as if the rest of the games didn't happen.
On many TB pass plays there was no ATL defender on the screen when the ball was caught.
Falcons' D has been racked by injury. Assuming Engram is back, everything should be in order for an Eli revival.
And no one wants it more than Mara and Gettleman.
Then a week later, Eli will be 25/44, 189, 0tds, 3 picks.

Speaking strictly for myself, that's why the game last week was so disappointing. There will be none of that. Last week was the sound of 15 years being over. Hope is lost, a big game will not matter to me anymore. He has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he cannot string good performances together and there are no more excuses. It's over, which is a very strange feeling.
Vic Beasley has been MIA for a lot of this season, but the Giants are everyone's "get right" team.

The blueprint is out on how to attack Eli. They'll be lucky to score 20. Keep Eli at QB if this team wants a top 3 draft pick. They really need to see what lauletta has, though. Maybe after bye
This
So the Giants had the best 2018 draft? And it has not helped them one bit. Barkley is a one man offensive machine, with Shepard contributing a little bit, but Eli can't do a thing.
The team is saying the right things, but the Giants will continue to play down to bad defenses and that 31 points against the panthers 2 Sunday's ago will be shown as the aberration that it was, and they will be back to their below 20 PPG scoring.

Boomer probably thought he was going to be the NY a hotshot WB when he came to the Jets and that franchise was abysmal with him. He has also never gotten over that SB loss to the 49ers. He’s just bitter about his career, because in his mind he was an all time great.

is setting Eli up to fail......poor defenses? So if Eli has bad games against them, just gives him more fodder to backup his opinion....
This
I agree this is most likely part of why he said that today. Boomer is always trying to get a narrative to fit his opinions and never once admits maybe he was wrong about his opinion.
He talked for months pre draft how Darnold was perfect for the Giants, and will never stop trying to prove he was right. Even if Barkley is a HOFer and Darnold flops,we'll hear how he would've succeeded as a Giant.
That said, Eli is the only starting QB on our roster currently. There's no one else, at least for this year and likely next year as well. If they keep losing and Eli continues to look bad, Lauletta should and will get some reps.

I really love this site and hate it at the same time. As much as some of the fans drive me nuts BBI is like a drug that keeps sucking me back in.

Engram didn't play really at all in the Arizona game. Who were the skill players again facing a very tough Cardinal defense? Roger Lewis, Hunter Sharp?
