I don't know what spurred it on, but can't get too worked up about it.

The only thing I've noticed in cases like this is that we don't get anyone better. I understand why that would be the case given the availability of players at this time of the season, but that raises the question of why you're cutting them at this point when they at least already know the system.

This. He was unable to make tackles that would have ended drives against the Saints. Love the spirit but was not physically able to make consistent tackles.

I don’t know why Haley didn’t beat out Deavon from the start.

Somewhat surprising since his coverage skills are decent, and as someone noted, he knows the system. But as others also noted, his lack of size creates tackling problems on defense and ST. Of course, Haley is the same size, but he nonetheless might be better at tackling. The Giants also gave Haley a $20K signing bonus as a UDFA IIRC.

I do like the Haley move - As I have said b4, at this point lets put the kids out there & see what they can do.

You think you know what's best for the team even down to the most minuscule decisions. Unbelievable. You think our 1-5 record means that Gettleman can't even tie his shoes right, that Mara is to blame, that Shurmur is a failure, and that the poor offensive line play is on Eli for not moving around enough to make something goo happen.

Deayon was not getting any better after three years, Haley must be more capable in their eyes. Let's not go overboard. Things are bad enough without questioning every single move.

who overcame serious size deficit to make an NFL roster. Hard to see why people think this is a cancer removal. If anything it's the opposite - valuing attributes like size over scrappiness. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If thats the case then the entire OL should be cut as well as Eli, Odell and countless others.

I agree he is not the answer and there is probably a reason or two he is gone (at least I'm hoping DG has some plan cause lately it looks like the one he had sucks).
