According to GBN Draft Report, the Giants still #1...

M.S. : 10/16/2018 9:10 am
...in 2019 Draft selection:

"Giants keep #1 pick for another week … Things were all over the place the past day or so, but when the smoke had cleared the NY Giants held onto the #1 pick overall in the first round selection order for the 2019 draft were it to be held this week."

Below is link for all 32 teams after this past week of play.

Does DG draft a QB out of need, or stick to his "gold jacket" requirement picking that early?

I don't know the answer, but if no QB this past year was "gold jacket" I tend to doubt one this year is.

So...who is the "gold jacket" of this coming draft?

We need a QB because I believe this is Eli Manning's last season with the Giants.
Wow #2 last year and on pace to be #1 this year hard times

but I think the Giants loved Mayfield and would have drafted him if he was on the board at 2. I'm saying this only because of the way Gettleman spoke after the draft - he said "they went Mayfield, so we went Barkley." Which Ia admit could be easily taken as matter-of-fact, but the way he said it made me think that because Mayfield was off the board, we went with Barkley. At least there's room for that interpretation - he didn't say "we were going Barkley all the way," he said we went Barkley because they went Mayfield, which is a little different.

We'll never know, but I wonder if the biggest "mistake"* the Giants made in this draft was not passing on Darnold, but rather not moving up to get the one quarterback they loved. I think the Giants (along with just about every expert out there) thought there was no chance the Browns would take Mayfield at 1. Once they did, the Giants went with the BPA.

* I put mistake in quotes because I don't want to be misunderstood as saying that picking Barkley was a mistake. Yes, I would have gone quarterback all day long and think Darnold would have been a good fit in New York, but I'm not trying to reopen that debate. Barkley is an outstanding player.
We won’t be picking #1 next year.

The second half of the season is far more forgiving. We will be picking 4-6 range.

I only see one more win... maybe two.

3-13 is about all this team can muster:

at Falcons L
Redskins L
at 49ers L
Buccaneers W
at Eagles L
Bears L
at Redskins L
Titans L
at Colts L
Cowboys L

Cleveland wasn’t trading down they got who they wanted. This is a non issue

would be if Lauletta is good enough to take over. I know on here people complain about his arm strength. How would they even know? Maybe they read it on here. I am hoping these two new Yo Yo's we hired were smart enough to know he has a pro arm if they took him in the 3rd round of the draft.
