It's Not primarily The Coaching, it's the Talent. If the Talent was so terrific, Reese would still be here.
Can Eli still play? Maybe the right question is whether he'll still be able to play when they have enough talent to win....and I believe his performance and remaining talent is absolutely in question.
O'Dell... Barkley... Engram?... The Left Guard.... Solder?...maybe Gallman becoems a nice contributor. Otherwise, it's a mix of Scraps and JAGS---and Shep IS a JAG!!!! Let's not forget that Blocking is a Talent.
I believe they're a little closer on D--- Lacking Bodies and skill in the DB's---and that is looking threadbare going toward 2019

Obviously the OL still sucks (and I have faith DG will fix this, but it does take time)...
this of course doesnt also mean Eli couldnt hold the ball a little longer than he does, or if he were more mobile, extend some plays.
And while I look at the defense and see some decent talent -- they've given up 100 points in 3 games. They suck too.

People here keep thinking there is a quick fix... Get a new QB and couple of OL in FA all the problems will go away. First off, we are living the FA acquisition nightmare now. FA OL cost a ton for garbage these days, think Pugh, Richberg, and our own Omameh and Solder. Plus there is a lot more wrong with this team than just a QB and a couple of OL. We need about 11 new starters to replace garbage that we are starting now, and depth everywhere. That is HALF the starting lineup needs to be replaced. As you said, Gettleman has to gut this fixer-upper. Its going to take more than one off-season.

What exactly is Sr VP of Player Personnel? Its not the GM. He doesn't make the final draft decisions. He doesn't sign FAs. Certainly not a coach. Does he head the scouting Dept.? What exactly is that role? He does seem to have some say in what players are brought in, but what is that say, and how important?
