So Nick Bosa injured himself on Sept 15, and had surgery. It was very likely he could have returned to Ohio State for the stretch run and postseason.
Except that he decided to quit the team and focus on getting ready for the NFL draft. Does has actions change your opinion of him?

If it were me, I wouldn't take the risk either.
...pro football begins at the High School Parochial level; continues on at the collegiate level; and then gets its official stamp of approval in the NFL.
Maybe he is injury prone like his brother and doesn't want to chance another one?
Sake of the argument let's say he came out last year and the Giants drafted him. What stops Bosa from looking up and saying this is a one win team, why should I keep playing hard when it doesn't matter and my salary is guaranteed?
Second scenario - Bosa's team is down 10 with 5 minutes left to play, great time for a strip sack fumble recovery for a touchdown. Does Bosa play all out to try to make that happen or sit back?
Everyone assumes he'll turn it back on once he gets on a pro team but how guaranteed is that?
I think there is a difference between a player sitting out a Bowl Game because they are hurt or don't want to rush back vs. a player who got hurt early in the year, who was likely to come back but instead decides to walk away from his team midseason to focus on himself. In the playoff era of college football Bosa could have made a big impact, and we'll see if his absence hurts OSU in January.
Perhaps that's why he's withdrawn.
Seriously, more players of his level, in their final, should seriously consider this whether they are hurt or not. The downside is just too severe. Just ask Jaylon Smith. Fortunately, Dallas still drafted him in the second round, but I think he was the best player in the 2016 draft. I would have taken him in the top five, easily. He lost a ton of money from the rookie contract he would have received if not for playing in that worthless bowl game...

So you’re aporeciating Buckeye Central?
I am not fond of the Ohio State program. Meyer is a great recruiter and coach and has re-made them into a powerhouse. But like Calipari at Kentucky, I always feel there is something a little too slick about how they do business...
Skipping the bowl game has gone on for a while, but this is now the first time a player is withdrawing in the middle of a season when he almost certainly could have returned down the line. Interesting to see what kind of precedent this sets

Dont be shocked if Michigans stud DE does the same thing too.

but I can't blame him. It's his life, his career. Any desire to see him return was based in selfish intentions. Was his first year as a full time starter here. He was dominating unlike any player I'd seen in a long time.

Gary? He hasn't been that noticeable in the Michigan games that I've seen. Bosa is more of an impact player.

He commands a lot of intention and is a BEAST in the run game. I would say Gary is more dominant in the run game than Bosa is. As far as pass rushing, he hasnt stood out. A lot of that is because their defense is SO dominant that Winovich or Bush get there first. Teams are using a ton of screens to negate pass rush.

Maybe. Goldilocks is having an amazing year. He's really flying around the football.

Teams don't think like that anymore, Christian McCaffrey shot up draft boards and went higher than early projections after sitting out his bowl game. It's not a concern to me when I assume that most players have this mentality to some degree. Why wouldn't they with what is at stake?

He had a serious injury and may be able to come back. If any team in the top thinks that him being smart about not re-injuring himself and pass on him there will be a line of teams willing to forgive him. Kid is a sure fire top 5. Risking that is stupid. You’re thinking lolenits 1970. Those
days are gone. M
Why risk millions? Nobody is going to blame him other than OSU fans who if it was then or their kid would most likely do the same thing.
