Cant believe with the shitty Giants discussion no thread has been started.
Kreider puts the good guys up 1-0...though I didnt see it because my stream broke up. Kreider has 3 in 6 games. Not so shitty. I know Rangers are projected to be bad because they are playing a bunch of kids, but they have at least been competitive in most games except one (Buf?)
Fuck! Vesey cant finish breaks.
I really like Chytil. He reminds me of Datsuyk

Great shot. Far corner high. This team has some run in it. I dont think they will be able to justify keeping Hayes or Zucc but lot of skill on this team
That's pretty good company.

What a rip by Hayes.

Yeah, I think they will get a lot of calls on Zuccarello and will probably move him if they get the right offer.
I'd like to see Hayes stay but we'll see how things go.
I like the way we're playing early on. The team isn't very good, but there's youth and there's a lot of guys here playing hard and working their butts off. I'm happy with the way Quinn has them skating.
Varlamov has robbed us a few times tonight. Had a few good opps there.

No shit.
Btw, Ive noticed that this team creates plenty of very good scoring opps but they fail to finish. You give the same opportunity to a team like the Ducks or Sharks and those are goals. This is encouraging because its the creating of the scoring opps thats the tough part. Finishing comes with experience or can be attained easier than finding guys who can make plays.
This team has playmakers.

Part of me wants Zucc to stay because he is the best playmaker on the team. But age wise, it makes much more sense to keep a 28 year old Hayes who plays amore important position than a 31 year old who doesnt finish very well.
I'm thinking of Kreider's goal ... not the Col goal.
Those always drive me fucking crazy.
Nah ... and Hank is sure on his game tonight... it's fun watching this team playing like this ... they have so much jump ... gotta love it
Those always drive me fucking crazy.
Yep. Has plagued them for a while now.
They guess. Think about picking a throw out of the dirt as a 1B. You have to only be in the ballpark. You only have to angle it down, then let physics do the rest and challenge the goalie's reflexes.
It was the onlyway I scored. I could fly on the ice, and had a strong base. All I had to do was hold my ground and "catch" another guys shot with my stick..
Its why guys like Mike Rupp had a place in the league for so long.

out of the air while it's traveling at a high speed and while they're standing on ice skates - and to deflect it into the goal no less. It's just amazing to me.

I never played organized ice hockey - just lots of pond hockey (and street hockey in my 40s) ... but I have NEVER been able to deflect a puck ... and I always thought I had good hand/eye coordination ... it's just an amazing skill

Like I said, its mostly reflexive. I played NE prep school hockey and I didnt know shit about the game prior to playing, but I could skate. I carved a little spot out on varsity simply because I was fast, had great balance and I was good at trying to "catch" the puck with my stick. I couldnt do shit else as far as puck handling or shooting like the other guys. But I was at the right spot at the right time and I was "heavy" on skates.
Nice win.
Hank was pretty fucking good tonight.
Playing hard at the start and playing fast....things might come together.
He really looks quick right?
Or Benedict Cumberbatch

I was at the Rangers Town Hall meeting with Quinn, Gorton and Sather (for some reason) and I can honestly say that Quinn, in his 50's, looks better than I would say 98% of guys in their 20's and 30's. No homo...NTTAWWT.
Damn.
Damn.
Okay? I mean hockey is the fourth most popular sport in New York, but yeah, the Rangers have objectively one of the best and largest fanbases in the entire NHL.
It’s his best start in the last 5-6 years. But they have to try and get him more rest this season.
Damn.
That's still pretty cheap compared to the past few seasons.
Results have been spotty, but they've been right there in every game. With a better finishing touch the wins will come. Definitely seeing some good signs.
Also, Hank is still a stud.

Was looking to go tonight...cheapest ticket was $75 for an October weeknight vs COL for a pre-rebuilding team.
Damn.

I can't believe it's that pricey, for an October weeknight in a down season.
Ever try and get a ticket to the Bell center? How about Toronto, Chicago, and forget Vegas, they're new, but I was shocked at the fan interest.
I think the NYR have the 2nd highest ticket prices in the league (after MTL) to start with, but those ticket prices ($75) don't sound expensive to me. In fact if you can get them at that price I feel like it's sort of inexpensive (I guess that might be sad based on conditioning)
Face value for upper deck in Boston last Thursday vs Edmonton was $57 - my youngest wanted to go and see McDavid. But good luck finding them for less than $100.
You missed some pretty good hockey by the Rangers in the first half of the period. Thing is, Caps can score in the blink of an eye even when the other team (Rangers) are carrying the play.
Nah. You keep watching. They're playing well.
