Could Spencer Pulley be part of the fix on the OL?

Beer Man : 10/17/2018 11:10 am
NJ.COM thinks so. What I didn't know is that prior to injury, Pulley was rated as one of the NFL's premier centers. From the article "Last season, Pulley and Eagles center Jason Kelce were PFF's highest-graded centers through the first three weeks, both garnering grades of 93.9. "

Sounds emphatic. Do you know ANYTHING about Pulley? I certainly don’t
If he can't get his arse off the bench

the probability is low, yes?
Actually I'm more curious about Evan Brown.

Anyone watch this kid play for SMU? He was their starting centre his last 2 season. Prior to that he started at ROG.

I don't watch college ball with any regularity so would appreciate comments.

From the little I saw of Brown during the preseason it was obvious that he needed a year in the weight room. Brown was my favorite UDFA signing and I think he could be a starting C one day.
Season is out of hand anyway

Might as well throw everything against the wall from now till the end of the year and see what sticks

Really? I thought he benched 225 like 37 times at the combine? Maybe I am wrong but Hernandez did 35 reps and Brown did 37.
Maybe

Evan Brown has also been kept around, so maybe there are hopes for him, too.
Brown is like the same size as Jones was.....
Simms11 : 10/17/2018 12:11 pm : link
I could see him getting pushed back in the pocket fairly easily. He probably needs to get stronger. We do need an infusion of talent at Center IMO. Have to build the lines from the inside out. Eli always functioned much better, as would any QB, when his pocket wasn't getting pushed back in his face. We need stronger interior play. Omameh also not helping matters. He too has been horrendous.
I remember when Weston Richburg was listed as one of the top

Centers in the league.

Meh.
Pulley finished the year as PFF's 3rd worst center
Strahan91 : 10/17/2018 12:30 pm : link
so those 3 weeks from the article were not indicative of much. The first thing they did in FA was go and sign his replacement and cut him later so they must agree that he's not worth much.
JD Walton still available

36 reps at his pro day.

+ He's young and apparently had a good stretch over the first half of last season.
- Chargers had a bad line and didn't bring him back, even as a backup.

doubt it. He was cut by the Chargers. But I'd insert him at RG, or at C, and move Greco to RG. Omameh must be benched.

For some the gym strength does not translate to the field. It could be that he needs to build up his lower half or it could just be a technique issue. Mitch Petrus benched 225 like 46 times at his pro day but he had trouble with power in the NFL.

In a couple of weeks I would insert Evan Brown at C and Greco at RG unless Omameh plays much better. We need to see if Brown is a viable potential option next season.

I don’t know if they should try Pulley or Brown at center, but Greco should be the RG if Omameh doesn’t improve. If Halapio had not been hurt, I think they would have tried Greco by now.

Only negative with Greco is that this was probably going to be his last year anyway.
