In 2 weeks for the winter. I'll b snowboarding the north tahoe resorts. I don't know anything about south tahoe but the main drag in Truckee has a bunch of pretty nice bars n restaurants.
You should do some boating on Tahoe, you can rent a boat and have a nice day on the water, maybe do some fishing but not sure about licensure.
Check out Emerald Bay State Park. Nice hike, beautiful Eagle Falls...you can do a lot of hiking there and there's no more beautiful setting, IMO. There's also the historic Vikingsholm Castle there that is pretty cool if you like history type of stuff.
Of course, there is the casinos for gambling and I'm sure plenty of entertainment options.
Stateline Brewery and Restaurant to try their local craft beer and get a burger or sandwich. When I was there the beer was ok, I'd be curious if they've gotten better and it was good enough to go back.
I've been only once, a few years back, but Tahoe is one of my favorite places on earth. I'd love to go back, hell I'd move there. Congrats, you're going to love it.
Here is a link about Heavenly Village and some other restaurants with stuff to do:
after going to the NYG/SF game. It rained the entire time we were there, so outdoor activities weren't happening, but we did eat at a few good spots. Cafe Fiore for surprisingly good Italian and an excellent wine list; Naked Fish for good seafood; California Burgers and Blue Dog Pizza for more casual dining. Bert's Cafe and Ernie's Coffee Shop are both good spots for breakfast.
Other than that, the casinos, or take a drive up to Reno.
Can you dig it? - ( New Window )
