They throw a number on the board and then stroke him verbally. With that being said, it's good to hear someone likes him. He will be one of the building blocks.
and not that I take their ratings at face value, these are the overall ratings of the moment for Giants OL current and recently past.
76 Will Hernandez
69 Nate Solder
58 Bobby Hart
56 Weston Richburg
55 John Greco
53 Justin Pugh
53 Brett Jones
53 Ereck Flowers
51 Patrick Omameh
43 Chad Wheeler

There's no way Wheeler is 10 points worse than Flowers.
Jones is way better than Flowers. So is Pugh when healthy.
of a truly bad OL, I don't know how you can really evaluate anyone, because your play depends on the guy to the L/R of you, as well as yourself....
Hernandez? Not the mauler in the running game as expected.....still learning.....still making mistakes....but that is expected when you throw a rookie out there between two new guys.....I see him still missing an assignment when stunts are done in his direction....
Next year, he and Solder should be more comfortable together....but he will have a new guy to the right of him.....Omameh will be back because of his contract, and we have to hope we can finally get a RT.....

yes Hernandez has had his hiccups, but I’ve watched him in particular for a couple drives a game and I promise you he has ATLEAST three pancakes already. One especially nasty one in pass protection (I think it was the Panthers) where he absolutely decleated a guy. And he generally doesn’t get moved back in pass protection. So he stands out when you watch some of Eli’s pass drops.

Both are free agents at seasons end.
In todays NFL the Guard position is becoming increasingly important. The Giants will need to address this and the Center position next year.
Theyve been average but its expected with rookies. The biggest surprise is quenton nelson who has struggled big time against the pass
Below is linked to Sy's draft profiles for C/OG.

Indeed. I posted the link so that lecky could cross-reference the players rated higher and judge for himself how they are performing individually.
