Just got mine. Hopefully they made the best decisions predicting this year’s strains. You want to up your odds of not dealing with that . Not a fun thing.
Got mine yesterday, the high dose. Most of the time when it hurts after a shot, it’s because you tighten up when you know you’re getting a needle and that strains the muscle. You need to look away and relax your arm and shoulder and that usually minimizes the discomfort or eliminates it completely
a flu shot, I was a kid. They aren't worth it at all due to the weakness of the shot. They made it even weaker.I guess it could be a good placebo affect.
in over 10 years and have never set foot in the one three miles away in Paramus.
In regard to thinning the herd, modern medicine certainly has not had a good effect on the gene pool by deleting natural selection, but that is a cruel thing for me to say.
Been sneezing my effing head off ever since, no ideal if it's related to the shot. I'm not sick but the itching, allergy filled nose just won't go away.

Jon I think its some kinod of weird virus - i had it last wknd and for 36 hrs i was sneezing and running nose non stop - then gone but exhausted for a day then fine.

It could be related to the shot.
Scientifically, while it is virtually impossible to get the flu from the flu shot (as some people claim), it is not uncommon for a small percentage of people within 24 - 48 hours after a flu shot to get cold symptoms. But they typically do not last long.

this is not true. Just because you don’t get the shot and haven’t gotten the flu doesn’t mean the shot is pointless or too weak to work or whatever you claim. Please everybody DO GET your flu shot to protect the most vulnerable people out there that cannot get the shot or are inherently much more at risk due to age or compromised immune system.
But it is not bullshit that it can make you sick. Last year was I was an absolute train wreck for two days and wasn't back at 100% for four days. Granted, this was an outlier. I don't usually react that badly. But it was legitimately the most sick I was that entire year.

In my post (if you were referring to me) I said it's impossible to get the flu from a flu shot, and that's a fact. It's scientifically impossible. a flu shot contains dead flu virus (inactive) or one part of the flu virus.
If you get the actual flu after being vaccinated it means that either a) you already had it before being vaccinated or b) you got a different strain
but what you can do is get flu-like symptoms or cold symptoms, while not common, it does happen to some patients.
Only those symptoms don't usually last long.
And I used to often say "I have the flu" until I actually got the flu a couple years ago and it wasn't until then that I realized I had literally never had the flu before. Most people haven't. They get a bad cold and call it the flu. The flu can be deadly, if you had it you'd likely know.

This is a true post.
Should also note that almost any insult to the body (including just a needle stick) can cause some inflammation and that can lead to things like swelling or slight fever or aches, etc (not usually sniffles though (I don't think)). Also, in many places the weather is changing so there are some unusual temperature stressors, allergen fluxes, etc. In short, there's other stuff going on coincidental to your flu shot which could impact your health.
I actually got mono like a day or 2 later. I was in college though, so I am sure that I had it prior to the shot, and the immune system was just messed up.
The fact that Stan isn't getting one should convince Â

I said it can make you sick. Didn't say anything specifically about the flu. In my case, I was a mess. It felt like having mono with a bad cold on top of it.
But no, I wasn't referring to you :) Was just sharing my experience.

I understand your point about coincidental elements being at play, but this was so deliberate that I can't logically blame anything except the shot... and again, I am not claiming it gave me the flu. Just that I got very sick. I woke up feeling great. Went to work. Still great. Took the shot, and two hours later I was done for.
I have not had the flu or a sick day in 20 years... Â

I wouldn't argue with you on that point other than to add that the inflammation itself (perhaps derived from the physical insult of the needle the adjuvent (additive) to the flu pieces, etc) could make you feel a little ill (fever, muscle pain, etc). Plus, any type of stressor (inflammation as above) or even emotional stress (even as slight a stress as anxiety over the shot), can have an impact on susceptibility to other things. So, maybe there's a cold virus or an allergen or something bacterial that you're exposed to and you normally wouldn't even notice, but due to the shot-derived stress, you might now get a little ill from those things. So, it would look like it's the flu shot and it might play a meaningful role, but it wouldn't be the flu shot (or specifically the flu formulation) per se.
I've seen studies on student groups prepping for major exams Â
where they find a higher incidence of infection/lower parameters of immunity as compared to control students. The conclusion might be that tests give you the flu but that would be somewhat misleading.
they gave me a $5 gift card to do it, so I hauled my kids there and got another $15.
Got my TDAP in July and got a full on flu type reaction in the middle of summer. It sucked.
Shame on you, Al. I hope the Olive Garden near you runs out of breadsticks.

I admire your entrepreneurial instincts!
I got mine around Labor Day.

Ahh the annual my refutable opinion is somehow superior to your refutable opinion so I'll be a smarmy cunt post...

I just wish I had more kids so I could pimp them out annually for flu shots at Target in exchange for $5 gift cards.
f-ing wife forcing me to get that vasectomy. I knew it would haunt me.

Not worth it.
Not worth it.
Just read this post when determining whether to get the shot or not.
Not worth it.
Tags because there are assholes like yourself that just don’t get the shot. The more people who get it the less chances everyone gets the Flu.
Find a knothole, of course!

Just remember - Stan says not to get the flu shot.
Rethinking going against Darwin on this one, Big Al?

Yup.
Same here, less than 10% efficacy last year and full of toxic metals.
