Steve Wilks should be fired after this game

dep026 : 10/18/2018 11:24 pm
Rosen isn’t having a good game. Their OL is an abomination . It’s 45-10 with 2:00 to go and 4th and 16... and you have your future just continue to take abuse?

I am sorry this is just inexcusable. Rosen should have been pulled in the 4th. Yet he still wants to throw it around as his QB continued to take hard hit after hard hit.

Outrageous in every sense of the word.
That organization is a disaster
Anakim : 10/18/2018 11:25 pm : link
That O-Line may be worse than ours. And Rosen got injured in garbage time.

I feel bad for Fitzgerald. He has to go out like this?
and they did Bradford dirty
SHO'NUFF : 10/18/2018 11:44 pm : link
to save money.
Save Money?
Young Elijah : 10/18/2018 11:49 pm : link
Bradford is getting 15M to go to a training camp lol. Hes stealing.
Bradford has stolen money his whole career
sb from NYT Forum : 10/19/2018 12:31 am : link
He’s probably made close to $100 million total so far and at best he’s never been more than average. Crazy fucking world.
Wait...fired?
chopperhatch : 10/19/2018 1:00 am : link
Jeez. Tough crowd. No coach would have punted there down in the 4th. Then he wouldve gotten killed for giving up. Its a tough break. But doesnt warrant him losing his job.

By that logic why not just kneel on it when ur losing that bad? Could u imagine how u would feel if Eli started kneeling down last Thursday when down by 20 late? No coach does that.
It's the QBs job to throw the ball and take hits
elgoman : 10/19/2018 1:11 am : link
Most starters play the full game in blowouts. If a QB doesn't want to take a hit, he can throw the ball away, run, throw a checkdown, etc. Rosen has all these options
When's the last time a starter was pulled in the 4th quarter
widmerseyebrow : 10/19/2018 1:31 am : link
To protect health? Not for performance, but just to save an otherwise healthy player from "taking hits?" That gets mentioned in blowouts a lot but I can't remember it ever actually happening. I could see that backfiring on a quarterback wanting to establish himself as a leader.
No
jeff57 : 10/19/2018 5:51 am : link
But Mike McCoy will be.

Simple solution. Put the backup in. There was no need for Rosen to continue to take that abuse. He’s your franchise QB who was getting crushed all game.
That is what monday night
Jimmy Googs : 10/19/2018 6:45 am : link
could look like...
He seems to be struggling
ZogZerg : 10/19/2018 7:06 am : link
You have to wonder how many wins he would have with the Giants if he ended up here? Right now he has the same number as Shurmur.
I think this is a bit much to suggest..
Chris684 : 10/19/2018 7:54 am : link
We are now talking about firing head coaches 7 games into their first season? In a league where there seem to be fewer practice time than ever under the latest CBA agreement? With a rookie QB? Come on.
...
Mdgiantsfan : 10/19/2018 8:14 am : link
Should Coughlin been fired for playing Eli after pulling Warner who I think was 5-2 at the time? There were some rough games for young Eli that year.
Do not know about firing
jvm52106 : 10/19/2018 8:19 am : link
but, Troy Aikman said the same thing late in the 3rd quarter. With Rosen being your franchise and already having been checked as part of concussion prevention earlier in the game, you might want to sit him as their Oline is just allowing the Broncos shot after shot on Rosen.

Warner had turned 5-2 to 5-4 because he was playing like shit. It was time for Eli.
We aren’t talking about pulling a guy
dep026 : 10/19/2018 8:30 am : link
For poor play. The point is he was getting the snot kicked out of him. He was already checked for a concussion. He was wincing from a hit to the shoulder in the 4th. And then he gets hurt on a meaningless play.

It was flat out dangerous to keep him out there and continue to throw and take a pounding.
Mike McCoy will be fired first
GiantsLaw : 10/19/2018 8:33 am : link
and he should be. Talk about a career of mediocrity.
The way he’s running that offense
UConn4523 : 10/19/2018 8:35 am : link
is worse than keeping Rosen in, IMO. I know he isn’t the OC but taking a 1,000 yard pass catching back and giving him 2 targets a game is simply horrible. If anything is fireable it’s that. Why even bother giving Johnson that extension?

Yeah, I didn't see the point in trotting him out there for that last drive at all. No problem with Az still running plays, but Glennon should have been out there given the score.

Probably about the same as Aikman and Eli their rookie years. QB's aren't RB's they take years to develop and have long careers if they're good. We won't know about any of the guys drafted this for another few years. Barkley will be out of the league when some of them are just hitting their prime.

So you want your team's best player to be hurt and out of the league in 3 years just to prove you are right? Quite the fan you are.

+1 Exactly right, trying to assess Rosen at this point is a waste of time.
fired after six games???

I think we have to get out of this mode of reacting to everything.

Most coaches would have punted there. You see it regularly so saying no coach would have punted down 35 is just strange

Giants did it just last season.
The Cardinals just fired Offensive Coordinator

With #AZCardinals OC Mike McCoy being fired, QB coach Byron Leftwich is the new coordinator and play-caller

Coach Red Beaulieu : 10/19/2018 11:31 am : link
Competitor for the Giants for the #1 pick. I wonder if they steal Hebert from us?

The Cards aren't drafting Herbert if they get the #1 pick. They might trade the pick away however. I think that is the main worry. If the Cards or Raiders get the top pick they will trade it to the highest bidder.

It could get real ugly in Arizona.
Wilks is totally over his head
HomerJones45 : 10/19/2018 11:57 am : link
but hey, he's young so BBI would love the guy.

His first blunder was getting McCoy who got the axe in Denver last season before the season was over. That would have told anyone whose head was not already under water that there would be problems.

I expect McCoy to be led to the guillotine in the next week. They have a #1 pick at qb, a great running back and an all-time wideout and this dipshit can't construct an offense with that.

wow, you expect something to happen in the next week that already happened hours ago? Quite the Nostradumbass you are.
