David Fizdale played film of only team's mistakes today. "A happy team is a soft team. I told them, "What did you do"? You didn’t do anything. We took care of home. We got into the film and watched a lot of mistakes we made."
Interesting to see how the young team responds to a taste of success. The Nets are better than the Hawks and have a chip on their shoulder, especially about the Knicks. I think it should be a good game.
If for nothing else this team will be fun to watch because of Fizdale Â
I have never been this hyped on a Knicks coach before.
There’s a certain aura he has in regards to his communication skills and relationship with players and even the media. He just knows how to work with people. Not that prior coaches didn’t, but they didn’t exhibit these excellent skills like Fizdale has.
Dare I say this franchise appears to have gotten shit right. I don’t even necessarily care about how high the next draft pick is. I almost feel like it doesn’t even matter as long as KP comes back 100%. They do need more talent but times aren’t as desperate as they used to be. Just keep this up and I’m not talkng about wins. Just in general keep it up.
I think this is the year that the Nets may have a better record than Â
Play the other night. Ive got to root for them again tonight. Loved what we got out of youngsters Trier and Vonleh. Frank has wonderful defensive square up technique. He moves his feet exceptionally well. I also think he can find a home as a SF as he certainly has the size. Maybe ots early, but he has a game that reminds me of Leandro Barbosa's.
Also have to root for Hardaway Jr to have really nice games to make teams in the hunt who need a potent shooting guard justify the contract. Philly? Lakers? His % was a little low for me, but the whole team got off to a slow start shooting
They should've kept Noah instead of Baker. Baker is an absolute blackhole on offense...and we already have one blackhole already. His name is Lance Thomas.
I bet Fiz had a little halftime chat with Frank. Â
and give credit where it is due levert hit a prayer 3 and that was a tough shot he hit to win it
Robinson may not be 100% yet but I agree we need him. Also given the rebounding disadvantage. We're playing three guards and a small forward most of the time - the C has to be a real rebounder. Vonleh is good but he is another forward.

i dont mind vonleh playing center but baker and trier can not be the back court, you need your guards to rebound when you play that small
In kurucs the 2nd round rookie
Long good shooter- aggressive— 11 and 6 last night
Biggest question for the nets will be if russel shows enough to resign—- my guess is no but it’s a long season- he has to shoot above 40 from 3 to be starter caliber and he’s not there
Allen is scary good for his age and 1yr development
Yes they are. I saw you mentioned the Nets could win 38 games or so - seemed like a high number for a team without a fourth quarter "closer," but maybe LeVert will be that guy.

The biggest thing for nets this year will be making the right choices beyond Levert/Allen. Decisions on Dinwiddie, Russell, and RHJ could all go either way. Russell has the most scoring potential on the team but Dinwiddie has produced better in the pg role and is a better athlete/defender. To me RHJ is an easier decision just based on $ value vs. his injury risk. Starting PG is a tough call.
Minutes keep getting tougher to find too. Kurocs being ready to play and forcing his way into minutes is an unexpected surprise. Carroll being out may be kind of a blessing in disguise.
And you get 10 plus points with same defense
Maybe less passing
Sure but beyond those 2, RHJ and Crabbe are going to grab a lot of those minutes as soon as they are healthy. I'd guess the first healthy starting lineup settles into Russell - Levert - Crabbe - RHJ - Allen. With Davis/Faried/Kurocs/Harris (and Dudley/Carroll when healthy) fighting it out for front court minutes beyond them.

He just keeps getting worse and worse - he had some decent moments here and there as a rookie, and it's been downhill ever since.
I didn't watch last night, but I did watch a good bit of the Hawks' game. Ron Baker really sucks on defense (too). It's one thing if you're not naturally gifted or athletic, it's another if you have that disadvantage and you don't really stick your nose in your opponent's jersey and stick to him like glue. Not only can Baker not move or slide with whomever he's guarding, he just gives it up and finds himself all alone, out of the play entirely. His PT should really be in question.
What a career he has had. He is what, 42 years old and still running with these 20 year olds
I think the Knicks win this game.

That's fine with me. Everyone pretty much knows the Knicks ceiling this year without KP. Just wanna see growth for the kids.
Isn’t it completely expected by almost every single person that the Nets should have a better record than the Knicks this season?

the Knicks. KP is gone most of the season and the Knicks front office are sticking to their plan not to trade young players and picks for veterans.

Knox
Nili
Vohnle
Robinson/Kantor
Could be fun. What the heck.
I say the Knicks, tonight.

Not even a physical game and they have been non stop
If things revert to the mean, then the Knicks should win this in the second half. Of course, it's sports.

Always has
You may as time goes on. Mudiay has not been available so far this regular season (ankle).

Ron Baker really is terrible. I'd rather see Mudiay

Right. Mudiay, as shitty as he is, is more competent than Baker.
no lance thomas is

Oh. Ian Eagle (I'm watching Yes Network. Figured I'd switch things up a bit) said Lee was checking in.
1) find out what Tom Quinn has on Giants' ownership
2) find out what Lance Thomas has on the Knicks.
him and kanter have carried the offense

Holy shit, Timmy, enough.
him and kanter have carried the offense
I know and I'm fine with him, but those two drives in between 3 defenders wasn't necessary. He's fine if he doesn't try to be his father.
Or the “flagrant” foul
I was wondering about that too.
and give credit where it is due levert hit a prayer 3 and that was a tough shot he hit to win it
Absolutely. And Rin Baker should be next to Lance Thomas on the end of the bench

Given the rebound discrepancy, it really couldnt have hurt.
they wouldnof just run a pick and roll to get the switch..
Knicks were +19 on turnovers but Nets were +19 on rebounds. We need Robinson and eventually KP to get more size up front.
Celts lost at Toronto tonight and they both played.

Baker plays too much. Why not give Dotson some minutes? I think he’s back to the bench once Lee returns.
- That flagrant call was awful.
- Even though he played well, Hardaway kills you on defense and poor shots/decisions.

also ball was clearly out on russell
However I was shocked to see Tim Hardaway guarding him and not Frank.
