Odell Beckham Sr., a former LSU running back, posted a video on Instagram showing a frustrated Mara knocking over a chair in his box at a Giants game in 2017. “REALLY!? Beckham Sr. wrote. “Is that owner Mara picking up a chair and throwing it!! Oh my my the tree is acting like the Apple!!! . . . He’s mad at how Odell is acting sooo HE DOES THE SAME??! You couldn’t make this up if you tried!!” |
Why not add this type of bullshit to the mix?
if it was Annie responding to criticism of Eli.

Yeah, it's nothing like Lavar Bell. But thanks for playing.
Unfortunately, we probably have many more than ten games of this caliber of bullshit in our future.
Odell made himself a rich man for life. Mara was just the one who wanted to be one of the ones who paid for his services. It's not like if Mara decided not to pay Beckham that he wouldn't still end up rich for life. Many other teams would have made him rich for life, not to mention his big endorsement deals.
My thoughts exactly.
It's so true
This used to be a franchise that could bang with the best and compete. Now it is a joke.

Really? Did we have to extend his contract this summer? OR.. was he still playing under the rookie contract? Didnt we have the ability to franchise him?
I suspect Odell's Dad is living off of John Mara's money now too.
Probably not the smartest move by Mr Beckham but certainly understandable. Mara was just plain stupid, egotistical and counter-productive. Keep it inside the building.
traditional franchise has become a culture of losers and malcontents
No wonder Wellington wanted disciplinarians
beyond the flowers release we need to cut and trade some more
Just waiting for jackrabbit to start shit aoon
P.s. maybe someone check what maras 40 time is.
They are not 1-5 because of O'Dells ESPN interview or his antics. They are not 1-5 because Mara called O'Dell out.
They are not 1-5 because guys are digruntled with Eli.
They are 1-5 because they do not have enough good players.
Non of the other stuff matters.
I could care less about the drama, winning would make it superfluous.

Between the money he's already made by being a first round pick, and the endorsement contracts he has signed, he already has made in the double-digit millions. The franchise tag would further enrich him.
Sure, the big contract he got was massive and gave him generational wealth. And perhaps it was more generous than what any other team would offer on the free market. But you're acting as if it was done by the Giants out of a sense of benevolence or altruism. They gave him the contract because they: a) wanted to lock him up long term; b) didn't want him to hold out and limit the team; didn't want him to hold out and cause a distraction; c) didn't want him to decide to go to another franchise when he was an unrestricted free agent because of any inclination that they didn't appreciate him.
In other words, Mara gave him that massive contract because of the value he thought Odell brought to the Giants. That is value that Odell himself created.
It would have taken longer, but if it wasn't the Giants, some other franchise would have made him a rich man for life.

We would have been 2-4 if not for bonehead Odell ST play in Carolina, taking a win from Eli.
How about OBJ focuses on playing football, Mara focuses on writing checks, and OBJs dad focuses on minding his own business instead of inserting himself into his grown son’s business? Does it really help OBJ to have his dad coming to his defense?
As for John Mara, when was the last time he made a public statement that was helpful? He should spend some time with Eli and learn how to handle the media because he is really poor with it.

What about the Eli interception right after the defense got an interception that led to a TD for Carolina.
Does that not count?
Do we really know WHAT Mara was reacting to in that short video clip? It could have been from Eli's interception or even the shitty halftime performance from the Hawthorne Caballeros
