Spencer Pulley is pushing to be a #giants starting OL, says OL coach Hal Hunter. High praise for John Greco, too. My take: Patrick Omameh is the one in jeopardy.

Starting right guard Patrick Omameh was on the side riding the bike while the Giants warmed up on Saturday. He was not on the injury report earlier this week.
Pulley started all 16 games for the Chargers in 2017,

Omemah

Has been pretty horrible, wouldn't be a bad idea to see if a change makes a difference

Patrick Omameh has been a real disappointment. I was hoping he would be the hard working overachiever that is solid, not spectacular. He isn't. Hindsight says Fluker would have been better but he might of been more of a liability than we thought with regards to pass protection.
Pulley is young and he plays two positions.
Either one or both of these two is true

- the Giants still remain poor at selecting OL in FA

or

- Eli's immobility is worse than you might think, causing any OL playing out there to look bad.

I'm concerned about the first one, since the big change in the FO boils down to two people. They might have more of a say than the rest, but they're still dependent on the work of the entire scouting department, who remain mostly intact from seasons past.
Im still P.O.’d about Brett Jones.

The guy can play football and gets a hat on his man. Plays like a pitbull. He is easily better than Omameh at RG. Stupid move.

He was horrific and benched for Minnesota.

-Or Saquon is terrible, making the oline look bad, bottom of the league rushing...
what would the cap ramifications be if they traded

Omameh in the offseason? Is it doable? It seems he's better suited to play LG than RG and teams tend to be willing to pay up for guys they're hopeful can be average on the line once they see the deals signed by FA's.
An interview with Spencer Pulley

And you expected better then horrific with 1 hour to learn their playbook?
It could happen sooner than you think

its being reported that Patrick Omameh is questionable for Monday's game. He has an issue with his knee.

Tough call. On one side, watching Fluker and Flowers opening lanes for Barkley may have been a thing of beauty, watching the two pass block for Eli would have been a disaster.
I watched Jones

and Omameh play every snap here. Jones is much better than him.
John Jerry
Paulie Walnuts : 10/21/2018 1:37 am : link
still a FA

shows how bad he was/ is
I'm very interested to see what Pulley does on Monday night.
Ira : 10/21/2018 6:51 am : link
I'm certainly not expecting him to be another Travis Frederick, but if the combination of Pulley at center and Greco at right guard is even somewhat better than Greco/Omameh, I'll be very happy with this move. Gettleman and co still have a lot of work to do on this offensive line regardless of how will Pulley does, but even a small midseason improvement will be like a breath of fresh air.
Jones ...
Bluesbreaker : 10/21/2018 3:06 pm : link
Was pushed back like a pee-wee sled....
Omameh Has shown that he is not much better ..It's a wash .
Center is a top priority he has been a disappointment
to say the lease .. Pulley can't possibly be much worse
I rather see them make a move rather than watch someone struggle like what we saw with Flowers . Gettleman has his work cut out for him but I have faith he will be fine and having another high pick I hope he considers trading some assets to make the roster younger and
more athletic .

Him purging the roster made it very young already. Who are the old players you're thinking of?

As it turns out, Mr. Hog Mollies gave away the best offensive lineman the team had aftee radically overpaying for a mediocre LT.
