I'm guessing Keenan Allen kicking a pylon and getting in his OC's face over not getting the ball in the RZ won't be back page news since they won. And because they're not in New York.

IN this league is horrible. I'm flipping around the Sunday Ticket and I see QBs running for their lives. How are teams scoring with these garbage lines?

Faster quarterbacks and broken plays more often than not. I don't enjoy this brand of football, but it is what it is.
I think in a few years, we don't see a QB drafted who doesn't run close to a 4.4 40. Slight exaggeration, but that seems like where we're headed.

Especially after they were bailed out with the penalty. That was like doubling down on stupid.
Anyone know why the Eagles and Panthers had a scrap at the coin toss? I was flipping around and saw it but had the volume off.
“As reported by Marcel Louis-Jacques of the Charlotte Observer, Reid was particularly chippy during the Panthers' pre-game, staring down players on the Eagles just prior to the National Anthem. As the Panthers came out for the coin toss, Reid confronted Philadelphia Eagles safety and team captain Malcolm Jenkins, and the two exchanged words before being separated by teammates.
Eric Reid needed to be held back by his Panthers teammates from a group a Eagles players near midfield.”

No.. it is not the future. It is now. Been saying for a while that the QB position has changed. We cannot have a statue playing QB anymore.
Why? Partly because the pass rushers are often much better than the OLs they are lining up against. If you cannot run or at least avoid the rush then your success will be limited.
JPP is wrecking the Browns. I think trading him was smart long term but the idea that we were all in on Eli to win now doesn't jibe with trading your best defender.

Agree 1000%. I dont know why some people cant see this. Front 7 guys are so much faster now than most OL can handle. You dont necessarily need a "running QB" but you do need a QB that can escape a rush, create space and make things happen outside the pocket.
I know Fournette was likely their best offensive player, but c'mon. Factor in that the Giants could easily have beaten them and 'Super Bowl bound' turns into 'missed playoffs' quickly.

They barely beat us, and we are trash. Not having Fournette kills them, he is absolutely their whole offense. They control the ball, the eat the clock and they keep their defense fresh to attack. The defense is good, despite the bomb they dropped in Dallas but they can't be on the field all day.
Are you surprised? It was always a desperation signing. Vikings gambled that with their defense if they just got a competent QB, they could win. But D his not as strong as it was and Cousins will keep them mired in medocrity.

Cousins has been one of the better QBs in the league this year. Tell me which free agent QB would have been better for them.
He was obviously the best free agent QB but he isn’t playing well today.
oh ok.. so today's play in the first half where he is 11-19 with one TD and no INT's means he was a bad signing. Even though he has been producing this year. Got it..
But he's not a winner but what choice did the Vikings have? They have the best WR in the NFL and two pretty solid RBs, a good TE and Stefon Diggs. They have talent on D, they have to swing for the fences.
Not do the reply thing when it gets to be like half a page? Just address the person in the Subject please. These get absolutely unreadable and it kills the flow.

Don’t get me wrong the signing definitely makes sense. I just though he would look better being on a better team. So far he has looked ok.

Jets D is at least decent, not our no pass rush D no TO D.
All over the league today. I mean basic fundamental grabs going back to this morning's game, are just not being made. Corey Davis had two terrible ones, Mike Williams, Stefon Diggs just flubbed an out, Cameron Brate dropped one in his bread basket, this is a shit show today.
The line between aggressive and stupid is fine IMO and this was stupid.

Can easily win Super Bowls with sufficient supporting players.
Cousins may not be an elite guy but he can run an offense and make tough throws and he has pretty good pocket awareness. If you have a run game and decent defense, you can be a contender with him.
Who will make that trade with us? Eli makes too much. He has a no trade clause in his contract which means he has to approve the trade. What kind of pick do you think we would get?

thought the rule was changed that the ball can move if you have control.
It can but they must've ruled he never actually had control when it supposedly hit the ground. I thought he had his hand under the ball the whole time and then pulled it in and should've been an Int.
Either way... GREAT fucking loss for the Dancing Birds and their fans!
has camera angles that you may not be seeing from the TV broadcast.
Hmmm, I don't believe that is correct:

I live in an area that gets both the Philly and NYC channels and for shits and giggles like to tune into the Eagles postgame show after a loss by them.
The meltdowns today are fantastic, and two of the guys on the show are ex Eagles who must've said we and us twenty times already. They're killing the HC and DC, and the D as a whole.
It pisses me off because of assholes in the media and assholes on BBI. I actually like Sam personally. I like his attitude and his demeanor. I'm honestly not the kind of guy who gets joy out of other people's misery but I have to admit when it comes to Eagles losses, I do.
This one is a classic, and the postgame is highly entertaining. They're picking the Eagles apart and killing everyone except Wentz.

I'm with you on this. It's like the Giants beat writers, NY sports radio personalities, and the Darnold to the HOF bbi crowd actually root for the Jets to win and for Darnold to play well to be proven right. I wanted a QB but I'd rather be proven wrong than root from the damn Jets and make excuses for their quarterback on a bi-weekly basis.
Hail Mary, three guys rushing and Trubisky has to run to get a throw off. If not for the guy in his face that ball is in the end zone (maybe not caught the same way)
But Pederson sounds like an idiot. Says this loss is a galvanizing team loss and also there's no pressure on his team. WTF?
His team is the defending champs and will take everyone's best shot. If anything there's even more pressure defending a title, and with each loss the pressure mounts IMO.
The guy sounded lost, and didn't exactly exude confidence or leadership.
With 59 yard field goal to win. I am starting to think you shouldn’t be able to kick a field goal longer than 50 yards by rule. It just seems like long field goals are killing the game.

Actually I thought that Darnold played pretty well today, tough winds, primary receiver out, scrubs in. One pick went right off the hands and another bad route by WR, not to mention quite a few drops. Stats don’t always tell the whole story, I thought he hung in there and competed.

I wouldn’t say that (not sure why you would think I am a hypocrite ) Â
Kicking is becoming too big a part of the game for my taste. Kickers like all athletes are bigger and stronger and better athletes. I don’t like the direction.
Hue Jackson said he will get more involved in the offense: "If that's my specialty I need to be involved more." Said there was no disrespect meant to Todd Haley or anyone else, the offense needs to get going. Said emphatically: "I am the head coach of this football team."
As long as the key card works.

I'm sure decades ago guys who loved the single wing and wishbone said the same thing about passing the ball.
It seems to me with the way the rules are weighted towards the offense,it's getting easier to move the ball between the twenties. However D's stiffen and combined with less room to move, and having he end line as another defender, it's getting harder to score for a lot of teams and we're seeing more and more FG's.
It's not an easy job and these guys have become very good at their profession for the most part. I would rather see my team score TDs but I also credit kickers for making the high percentages they do.

I think the complaints are more valid than they were a few years ago, and because of the increased number and magnitude of changes to the game in the past few years.
CTE became a big deal, so major changes were needed for player safety. Can't say they weren't necessary or valid, but they made a pretty noticeable, negative impact to the game. Then add the changes for monetary gain - driven to increase scoring for fantasy football, playing more games on Thursday nights and in London. Couple all that with a CBA that reduces practice time and a college game that doesn't produce as many pro-ready players anymore - and the result on the field is markedly worse than it was in years prior.

Ok I'll buy that.
"The Quarterback was still a runner, therefore he is allowed to be hit in the head"
I still cannot believe he said that. Replay showed Mayfield getting drilled in the head just as he started to slide.
So, can players be hit in the head or not? I dont even know what the rules are anymore.
That’s a pick !!
His hand is under the ball, then he brings it into his body.
That’s an INT
Absolutely

Yes, awful. You couldn't ask for a more clear cut case for using the helmet as a weapon. But no penalty because he was just going into his slide.
NFL has told the refs not to enforce the "using the helmet to initiate contact" rule.
Yeah but the announcers aren't seeing those.

Today is the greatest day I ever known.

Haha.
I'm honestly not the kind of guy who gets joy out of other people's misery but I have to admit when it comes to Eagles losses, I do.
This one is a classic, and the postgame is highly entertaining. They're picking the Eagles apart and killing everyone except Wentz.

It pisses me off because of assholes in the media and assholes on BBI. I actually like Sam personally. I like his attitude and his demeanor. I don't think he'll ever be an elite QB, but that doesn't mean I want to root against him. It's that the better he does, the more I have to hear from idiots on here and on Twitter how we made the wrong choice. I'm sorry, but I don't think we did and until proven otherwise, I will not admit that we did.
Regardless, I hope Darnold does well. He seems like a genuinely good kid.
Nah, I live down the Shore in NJ. Southern Ocean County.
Great area and I love having both NY/Philly channels available for sports.
Pederson and his LPGA visor wearing self making excuses left and right. Guys fell down, we didn't make enough plays, there's no pressure on us, etc.
If that was against the Giants there's no doubt it would've been a TD even if upon review was unclear he ever crossed the line
Browns in buc territory only need a FG
His team is the defending champs and will take everyone's best shot. If anything there's even more pressure defending a title, and with each loss the pressure mounts IMO.
The guy sounded lost, and didn't exactly exude confidence or leadership.
I dont think there is one. They have other avenues to waste hours/days/years of their lives...
oh right... now the field goals are killing the game. Not the rules. Not the constant TV commercials. Not the horrible officiating.

With 59 yard field goal to win. I am starting to think you shouldn’t be able to kick a field goal longer than 50 yards by rule. It just seems like long field goals are killing the game.
Yeah but just one more thing.

That is all.
So he played well.. Got it
Yup. 17-42 and 3 INT's. Brilliant!
Shut out by Texans ....
Makes you crazy how this season has gone .
To think were so far off is not as far as we all seem to think .
Sure... but then the team loses because the FG kicker misses a 35 yarder and our friend from NH says all field goals are ruining the game.
I dont see anything wrong with guys making 60 yard field goals.

Actually I thought that Darnold played pretty well today, tough winds, primary receiver out, scrubs in. One pick went right off the hands and another bad route by WR, not to mention quite a few drops. Stats don’t always tell the whole story, I thought he hung in there and competed.

Cousins 25-40 2 TD's ZERO INT's. Yup, those winds sure were tough...
It doesn't mean your chosen narrative is right.
