Just got a Kindle and want to read more books. I'm into thriller type/psychological thriller or mystery- books that make you think and have some good twists.
But every day I’m becoming more and more convinced that “The Panic Virus” should be on everyone’s reading list. It’s pretty much an autobiography for some BBIers.
is very well written in the "crime" and cultural genre. (Venice, Italy)
Any Ruth Rendell novel (or Barbara Vine, her other pen name) are good reads. The novels she writes under her own name tend to be psychological while the others tend to be more like traditional English detective novels.
Was thinking about getting mom a book of the month club for Christmas. She likes mystery paperbacks with no graphic sex or violence. Any suggestions for individual books or a book of the month that might fit?
but "Beneath a Scarlet Sky" is an absolute page turner. It's based on the true story of an Italian teenager during WWII who joins the resistance when the war comes to Milan.
It's very long, but really holds your attention (at least it held mine). It's in the early stages of being made into a film as well. link - ( New Window )
A lot of libraries also now offer Kindle books (I live in Fairfax County, VA and borrow Kindle books all the time).
Also check out BookBub - I get a daily email of links to discounted or free books in the genres I've selected and have discovered a lot of great authors that way. What's nice about free books is that if you try them and don't like them, you can stop reading and delete the book without having spent anything other than a little time checking it out.

Wikipedia lists award winners for each.
It's the best book I've read all year.

Obscure one. I've posted it here before, but y'all might enjoy.
Sort of a New London Noir type of thing. Hilariously so.
+1
I love that series and was going to recommend it myself.
