Ian O'Connor believes there is a shot Bill Belichick comes

DanMetroMan : 10/21/2018 10:46 pm
to the Giants, as an "overlord" type of figure with McDaniels taking over in NE. O'Connor has a new book about Belichick.
Screw that
bradshaw44 : 10/21/2018 10:47 pm : link
I want him coaching or not at all. His GM moves have left plenty to be desired. As a coach he knows how to get a lot out of lesser players. That’s what I want.
Just what we need. Another Phil Jackson.
Anakim : 10/21/2018 10:50 pm : link
Kidding. I know Belichick is the de facto GM of the Patriots.
Sure. Sure he will
jnoble : 10/21/2018 10:53 pm : link
That has the same odds as me winning the mega millions AND having a bus load of college cheerleaders break down in my driveway

??? What on earth are you talking about here. Are you insane? His teams have been consistently great for two decades now. You don’t do that without stellar coaching and personell decisions. Attributing it to one or the other isn’t grounded in anything tangible.
Ian O'Connor needs clicks

Ian O'Connor can eat a dick.
now going on ten plus years
GmeninPSL : 10/21/2018 11:09 pm : link
that I have felt that some how, some way. Belichick ends up with the Giants. But time is now running out and no one is getting any younger. If it's going to happen, it will have to be sooner than later and the "perfect Storm"
Belichick rumors are this team’s version
Oscar : 10/21/2018 11:14 pm : link
Of “Star player X is coming to the Knicks in free agency.”
Belichick does not need or want to be in NY
D_Giants : 10/21/2018 11:18 pm : link
The NYG ownership had their chance to make Belichick the HC. It balked. What could the Giants possibly be or do to bring him on in any role? Nothing.
If it was ever going to happen
moespree : 10/21/2018 11:18 pm : link
It was probably this past offseason. Giants were in need of a GM and head coach which coincided with supposed Belichick unhappiness in New England. But it didn't happen. And it probably never will.
"BB is coming to the giants" is a sadder version
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/21/2018 11:18 pm : link
Of Knicks fans "Lebron is coming to the Knicks".
He’ll come
giantsFC : 10/21/2018 11:20 pm : link
After he is washed up and behind the times. Like 2028 he’ll come.
Nah, he woulda traded Jimmy G. to the Giants
bceagle05 : 10/21/2018 11:22 pm : link
if that were in the works. Always a step ahead.
If Little Bill cares at all about his legacy (and maybe he doesn't)
BlackLight : 10/21/2018 11:39 pm : link
then he'll stay in New England until he falls over dead or he's totally done with coaching.

Belichick's son wants to be a HC, doesn't he?
jcn56 : 10/21/2018 11:45 pm : link
Well, if NE is promised to McDaniels, then...

...nah, won't happen. But just like the lotto ticket, doesn't cost much to have a dream.

He’s coaching his picks. He gets the most out of players that don’t succeed outside his program. He either coaches as well or I don’t want him.

Look at every back up qb that leaves his team. Let’s see how great Malcom Butler is outside NE on a consistent basis. Look at Shane Vereen. Look at the receivers that leave NE. He literally takes chicken shit and makes chicken soup.

Even when he doesn’t draft players he takes cast offs and makes them above average. See Amendola. His picks aren’t anything to write home about. I would want him coaching as well. If he’s not coaching also I don’t want him.
If he doesn't bring Brady or a Brady clone
GeofromNJ : 10/22/2018 12:29 am : link
I doubt that his presence will make a difference.
Who wouldn't be ecstatic about that...
Dan in the Springs : 10/22/2018 2:07 am : link
Sure he's a hell of a coach. But he also knows how to create a winning culture. How to get players to execute and make big plays.

If he had the wrong coach he most certainly would change that as the "overlord". How many of the last 30 super bowls has he been a part of? How many playoffs has his teams EVER missed?

Complaining that he wouldn't be the coach is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous at holding your breath for him to come back to the NYG.
This is what's gonna happen after the 2019 season...
Milton : 10/22/2018 4:48 am : link
Eli is going to be satisfied with his three Super Bowl MVPs and retire on top. Bettcher is going to become a head coach of the Cardinals. And Belichick is going to replace Bettcher as the Giants defensive coordinator. In the press conference, he'll talk about getting back to the part of the role that gave him the most joy and shedding the roles that gave him the most anxiety.
I know I know...... - ( New Window )
Playing for Belichick is no waltz in the park but there is a higher
joe48 : 10/22/2018 4:53 am : link
Probability you could get a ring. I think once a player leaves the stress of playing in the Bill B system there is a tendency for his performance to drop off. Less pressure playing for another coach. Brady would not have been as good playing for another coach.

a separate coach and GM role. Which is beyond dumb.

Belichick wears the hats he wants to wear. So that right there would be the non-starter.
Bill’s next and last stop will be MIami and Gruden’s contract will

Pat Shurmur, and we're posting things about Belichick coming to the Giants?

Additional madness.

Since I am both a Giant and Patriot fan,
Doomster : 10/22/2018 1:31 pm : link
and I can only shake my head when I think that BB could have been the HC of the Giants....

One thing about the Pats, it's very rare that you see a Patriot team not show up for a game......can we say that about the Giants? Second half adjustments? Almost non existent for Giant teams....The Patriots? Just seem to do it all the time....

In the era of free agency and a CAP, the fact that this team has played at such a high level for so long, is almost insane....
I really am only interested if it includes him coaching.
Matt M. : 10/22/2018 2:18 pm : link
Some question some of his moves as GM, but the Patriots seem very adept at getting rid of guys before they have the steep decline, even if a year early. They are also very adept at plugging specific holes each year with key FA acquisitions. Even if not the biggest names, they manage to find guys to fit the role they need and/or change the role to fit the player(s).
Even BB is smart enough
mdc1 : 10/22/2018 5:07 pm : link
to stay away from this train wreck.
This is a good idea.
Motley Two : 10/22/2018 6:02 pm : link
If the Giants actually include the title "Overlord", it's the best idea I've ever heard.

A Giants and Patriots fan?

Wut?
Who's surprised that Doomster would say something like this?
