Barkley & Engram would have been too much to give away for Mahomes (good as he is).
Things are bad now, very bad, but having a stud QB with no O-line, no running game and no possible hope for keeping double teams off of OBJ would have been worse.
Andy Reid went all-out, I applaud him, we just had (and remain having) too many holes to fill to compete with him.
But, it does make me think. IF we took Mahomes, there is a good chance we still get Barkley, because Eli would have been the starter. If they ultimately benched Eli, it would have been for MAhomes as a rookie with no OL, no running game, and no WRs after Shepard. Then this year, who knows. But regardless, we wouldn't need to draft a QB this draft.
Mahomes is great, his team and the Andy Reed system make him special.
