NFT: I've been instructed to call 1-877-231-2486

I Love Clams Casino : 10/22/2018 12:46 pm
from a digital female voice that said if I don't, I will lose all my Microsoft services...

You guys better call so it doesn't happen to you either.

I am hesitant to post this, sine we wouldn't want 30,000 BBI'ers to call there at once and flood their phone lines, but better safe than sorry
I used to get calls from an accented voice telling me
81_Great_Dane : 10/22/2018 12:50 pm : link
"This is Microsoft Technical Support; there are problems with the Windows computer."

(All the devices in our family are Apple.)

"The WINDOWS COMPUTER????!!!! OH NOOOOOO!!!! What do I DOOOO???"

I'd keep them on the phone until they'd get mad and start swearing at me.
It

saddens me that some people in this world are in such a tough spot that they have to engage in scams and/or are just so ignorant.

I always tell these people when they call that I hope things improve for them and I don't take it personally.
I was listening to the radio, and was told to call
Mike from Ohio : 10/22/2018 1:26 pm : link
1-877-Kars 4 Kids
1-877-Kars 4 Kids, that's
1-877 Kars 4 Kids
1-877 Kars 4 Kids

I guess they want me to donate my car today.
I had a call recently
santacruzom : 10/22/2018 1:39 pm : link
Where we were told "the cops" would pay us a visit if we didn't blah blah blah. Not the authorities, not the police, the cops.

Had I stayed on the call longer I imagine I would have been warned that a trip to the hoosegow was forthcoming.
if there is a way to share my audio from my call, you guys would die
GMAN4LIFE : 10/22/2018 1:52 pm : link

I mean what a waste of time and breath, but whatever floats your boat. They do not care.

I sing along to that in the car with an altered version of the lyrics that I won't spell out here since this is a PG family friendly site
It's like the emails to send $5,000 so you can claim the Millions
Jeever : 10/22/2018 2:25 pm : link
I usually respond with "I don't currently have a bank account but if you'll send me $1,000 I'll open an account and then borrow the $5,000 so we can seal the deal." If theyt ask for contact information I give them the phone number for the FBI.

Yes, I'm sure that a scam telemarketer stayed on the phone with you for 30 minutes while you read him a list of cookies, rather than hang up and call someone else.

Totally believable!
i recently got an email
UESBLUE : 10/22/2018 2:40 pm : link
that in the header had an old password i used so i opened it (no links or exes tho). It threatened that if i didnt pay $6K in bitcoin to a listed address, it would in 24 hrs send all my contacts the url to a porn site i visited. I was like so? (btw it never happened)

Why Are You Answering the Phone?
Samiam : 10/22/2018 3:01 pm : link
If you have caller ID, don’t pick up. You’re only encouraging a callback from or other scams because they know it’s a real telephone number with real people. You’re likely to get more phony calls

caller id is great, when it works
CardinalX : 10/22/2018 3:24 pm : link
problem is, alot of these idiots use something called spoofing or something when they are able to mask their actual phone # and replace it with a local # that appears as someone you might know. granted, it won't show a name, so you can still send it to voice mail etc. but people are more likely to answer a call from your locale than an unknown call from Nigeria

Blocking Calls
Samiam : 10/22/2018 3:43 pm : link
They do call from you area code and from exchanges in your town. For awhile , I was getting calls on my cell phone from my own cell phone number. I still say that you should not answer if you don't recognize the number and/or does not have a name you recognize.

What is really pissing me off now is that Verizon FIOS has the ability to block spam calls so they dont get through even if they come through your own area code or exchange. They allow you to block 100 numbers. If you exceed 100, you need to go into the web site and delete old blocked numbers to add new ones but you can only delete one at a time. They do this because they want to sell you blocking capability for 2000 numbers , $70 or 5000, $100. They really do suck when it literally costs pennies to block obvious spam calls and provide relief to thousands of customers.
