A lot can change between now and the NFL Draft in April, but ifJones winds up in the Giants' hands, it's more than reasonable toexpect that their two-time Super Bowl MVP would take Cutcliffe'slatest protégé under his wing and groom him for success in thepros.
He played so poorly against UVA, they are considering benching him.
The write-ups on this kids, sound somewhat like the write-ups on Davis Webb the year he was drafted. The biggest knock on him (which was also a knock on Davis) is that his decision making and anticipation is slow; which is a big strike against any QB coming out of college.
that Dave Brown had the worst stats of any QB in the history of the NFL to play in more than 50 games?
The league has changed so much in the 20+ years since he was a Giant, I'm not sure his mid 90s stats would be a fair comparison to today's pass happy offenses
I've always had a soft spot for Brown because the poor bastard played his ass off for the team under impossible circumstances. He was also one tough dude always getting up after getting clobbered week in and week out behind a line as crappy as the recent ones.
He also embarrassed Deion Sanders in Dallas on a QB scramble so there's that too lol

I have similar feelings. I think the OL he played benind was worse than what we have now.

But Eli spends time every summer at the Manning Passing Academy. He has seen most of the top QB and has known these kids, in some cases, since they were playing Pop Warner.
I think he could add some valuable insight. Just ask any Manning what they thought about Johnny Football?
A legit QB prospect who is going to fly up the draft boards come combine time. This kids is playing with shit for recievers, and shit for o-line and he's still doing work. His recievers can't catch a cold, even if they tried. They're near the top as far as dropped passes. DJ puts his passes right on the numbers. I'm a huge fan of him.
Welp, no need for mock drafts this year.
Makes sense.

Then, if we draft him, we will have to hold him out of our games against UVA. We'll need a good back-up.
Lol
aggreed
and also there is this:
Eli Manning says it's not his job to mentor young QB, but he's still willing to help - ( New Window )

Even just looking within the Giants, he has better stats than Pisarcik and Bruner, though they both played in, but didn't start, more than 50 games.
Tooooooooooooooooooo F.U.N.N.Y.

Not in a world where Mark Malone exists

Did Tommy Maddox have enough starts to qualify?

Again, not calling him the guy, but his offense did him no favors.
