The offensive line...what really bothers me

That’s Gold, Jerry : 10/23/2018 8:50 am
is there is no sign of improvement. We are now seven games into the season and they cannot block for Saquon, a running back who just needs a little hole. How many times last night was Saquon hit either before or just as he hit the LOS. I won't even get into the pass blocking.

But what is worse is there is absolutely no sign of improvement...no sign they are getting better. Wheeler played his fifth game and I would say he is no better than his first. No need to talk about Solder. Pulley did not seem to get any push at the point of attack and Greco is a journeyman at best. Hernandez had been improving but he missed a big block last night which led to a sack.

Ok, season sucks, we are out of the playoffs but can we not at least see some improvement as we move along. So far, in terms of the OL, I have seen zero improvement.

Changed guys from Center to Right tackle. Hard to build chemistry when guys are changing. This O-line won’t get any better. This is who they are for the rest of the season.

The OL rebuild has been a total flop

yes, the new regime walked into a difficult spot but they made the decision that the team could compete now so I have limited sympathy for them. If there were a bunch of young guys out there struggling I'd give them some slack but the only potential long term piece they brought in is Hernandez who hopefully just needs experience. Solder's salary is not sustainable if he's playing like this - have to believe he will be gone in a year or two at this rate.
