The team is right there with Shurmur.

Eli wasn’t the worst player on the field last night but when your car engine is shot, it doesn’t matter that you have flat tires and a stalling transmission. You aren’t going anywhere even with everything else working.

The best we can hope from Eli is a game like last night’s. No turnovers. High % completions. Not much else..

I said this last year - if anything, Eli sitting could just as easily be used to vindicate him, and prove that nobody could get anything done behind that line.

Now - although Geno Smith is no great shakes, I'm pretty sure he's much better than Tanney and Lauletta.

and I don't know if this was always the case or if they just showed it this game because of the recent history, but Shurmur seemed to spend a lot of time with Beckham after the times he was obviously wide open and Eli missed him.

I'm obviously extrapolating here, but it seems like Shurmur believes Beckham's future is longer in NY than Eli's. Just have to wonder how long Shurmur's will be if the team keeps up losing.

At this point, Eli should quit trying to protect the ball and just start flinging it around and go for the homerun. Who cares if it gets picked or he gets sacked nine times in a row or the offensive scheme or other players blow, Manning is getting the blame no matter what so he might as well go down swinging and he can get the fuck out of this two-bit circus.

Let the Pisarcik-Golsteyn-Lauletta years commence so Shurmur can get his walking papers after next season- the fans demand it.

I think the people who are still holding on to the idea that Eli is playing well are just the remainder of the most hardline fans. I'm waiting for the point where they accuse Shurmur of having something against Eli soon.
