Was he suppose to go to the cone on that missed TD pass?
I hear everyone arguing about going for the 2 point conversion, which I think was right....
But OBj gets a pass for not catching it? For all the great catches he makes, he does miss on some pretty simple ones...
He is one of our best players, but he has made a lot of mistakes in games this year....
I know he is frustrated, but as good as he is is, he is also part of the problem....not the main one, but he has moments that make you scratch your head...
Yes, he misread the defense on another potential TD. But people have to understand that these are misses doen across the league. They are only magnified since we suck and need to hit every chance we get since we get so few opportunities.
Beckham ran about five yards to far inside. He actually ran towards the defender.
It doesn't matter in the end. OBJ is the new face of the New York Giants.

Speaking of YAC, how about Sterling Shepard catching a ball and running for like 20 more. I almost immediately thought he was going to get tackled.
OBj makes incredible catches with one hand....but this one hit him in both hands.....yet he gets a pass on it...

Got some nice YAC on some balls, got deep on a nicely thrown ball. Even the TD catch was a really nice play by him. He should have an earlier TD but Eli didnt hit him.

I think the fact the defender falling down was a big part!
But SS had a very nice game as well. He misread the zone one time. Turning to the outside instead of inside.... but again thats splitting hairs. He made big plays which was needed.
the one where he had to stop his forward momentum, jump up and high point the ball?
OBJ likely ran the route poorly in the end zone. But on another red zone possession he had OBJ in the flat and failed to pull the trigger, and chose instead to go to the 3rd string TE who was double covered. Both of those were lost opportunities for points that have to be made.
This team is not losing because of one player or one unit. This team loses because EVERYONE on it is making mistakes at critical points.
Think there were three plays that Eli and the WRs missed on. One each to OBJ, Shepard and Engram where the WRs pulled up and Eli saw something different (think Eli was correct on each.)
Seems the only player that was in total synch with Eli was VC. Cannot remember them not reading the same thing on a much more complicated route tree.

This a a very good analysis.

Nailed it. Witten said the same thing. It is not one player making consistent errors. It is a different player every play.
You watch the KC Chiefs and they are in total synch - amazing.

No, he got ripped for running an incorrect route. And the point being made here is that everyone else on this team doesn't get close to the shit Eli does unless he is absolutely perfect. Even then someone will complain he didn't step up in the pocket to get blasted when the RB completely whiffs on a block

This is what I've been saying to my friends for weeks now. It's the symptoms of a bad team. One play, Eli throws an awful pass to a wide open receiver. The next play, Eli throws a superb pass that's dropped. The third play, Eli and the WR make completely different reads and the ball goes into no man's land. Or the WR is open and Eli is looking at him, but there's a free rusher and he doesn't have time to throw the ball.
And it's not that all teams don't make these mistakes, it's that with the Giants it all seems to happen on strings of consecutive plays.

Will not rest until he’s publicly shamed!!!
What’s this pass he’s getting? Is there some sort of punishment that he avoided?

for not catching a ball off his finger tips....

This is one complaint I agree with.
Eli is an NFL QB, but he's not a robot. Guess what...he's going to miss plays.
But the chances are so few and far between that it just stands out when he does miss.
Last night, the only play I have an issue with him was the 4th down and goal where he should have went to OBJ right from the get-go.
Now it's a big play, because it could have been a TD. But I think other circumstances put us in that spot.
It obviously looks like the Giants need to get more mobile/athletic at the QB position. And that's going to be easier than creating a functional OL....plus there's the age factor.
Eli only QBs next year as a mentor to a #1 pick IMO.

Well said, montana.
(Not to mention the incessant following him around with the camera at all times which is GD annoying.)
Don't have double standards.. OBJ, Shepard and others had bad plays but they also made good to great plays.. Eli barely makes the great plays anymore.. and has many more inexcusable plays each game..
BTW the next time OBJ gets a pass from the media and Old fart Giant fans will be the first time he will get a pass from them..
Burress was at the game last night. Great seeing him and the Gmen fans gave him a nice cheer.
In LT's first 57 games, the Giants went 25-31-1. I guess he was a loser too?
Absolutely moronic take.

Unfortunately, that's OBJ's doing.

in the 55 games OBJ has played in the Giants are 22-33.

you can't compare LT to OBJ. he is a HOF and a super bowl champion. all odell has done is got paid like a HOF, dance, complain, get fined, and lose games.

So, because you have the benefit of knowing how the rest of LT's career played out, you can't compare the two? The point is, if Beckham is a "loser" at this point in his career, so was LT.
Way to back up a moronic take with an even more moronic take though.
