This play sums up Eli at this point

The OL is shit! True not doubt!!! But Eli mentally is not there anymore ... His ceiling and floor has dropped and is dropping ...

I dont know if I would toss Kyle in there out or not just due to the OL stinks and we end up "David Carr-ing" him ... but for 1/2 a season I think I might risk it to get him piss poor game conditions, cause that is what he will see, but we need to see how he handles it ... moving forward

Still got mad love for Eli but it is a wrap .... he is only killing his HoF chances at this point.
oh jesus christ

MAKE IT STOP ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, an important play gets some discussion on bbi.

About time this was brought up.
Did Eli skip legs day at the gym?
SHO'NUFF : 10/23/2018 12:08 pm : link
He needs to work out more on legs so he can scramble like Mike Vick.

They should add to the end of the clip, the part of the post-game where Shurmur said something like, Odell was better covered than it looked like at first...
I still think Shurmur's a tool for doing this to his QB, now multiple times, with the NY media market being what it is.
the thing that gets me about the play is
bluepepper : 10/23/2018 12:11 pm : link
Eli imagining he was going to get a better option - like "if I just hold on here and extend the play with my athleticism maybe Simonson or someone other than OBJ will break wide open".

The throw is open OBJ is the 1st target because the D is going to swing with SB .. you fake the hand-off your head is to the left ... come right and hit OBJ IMMEDIATELY ... it is a pre-snap read .. then you come off OBJ and hit 1 of the TEs ... which he chose the wrong one ... It is all QB vision .. and progressions ...
Odell was covered
BBelle21 : 10/23/2018 12:12 pm : link
better than he realized? Wow. I’m sure Eli truly appreciates that when the jackals are all out looking for any reason to bash your QB. Pathetic.

I was at the game and in perfect line of sight of this play (4 rows back from the field), Eli had OBJ open immediately and didn't take the throw..
When I was
Giant Fan Dan : 10/23/2018 12:15 pm : link
watching the game I yelled at the TV too, Eli was looking at OBJ and to me he looked open, but ya know what? I'm not an NFL QB - and ESPN (along with your link) never show a real good clear view, especially from behind the QB, that I would need to say why he didn't throw it. Shurmur said in the postgame that it was covered up better than he initially thought. A 15 yr veteran NFL QB thought it was covered up - who the fuck am I to argue with those guys
If Eli threw it immediately
BBelle21 : 10/23/2018 12:18 pm : link
Like everyone wanted, and it gets batted away or worse tipped up and intercepted, Eli gets killed too. How about some better play designs
I think
NYBEN1963 : 10/23/2018 12:21 pm : link
throwing to Odell would have still been a better choice than where he went with it. That was a bad decision but Eli threw the ball really well the entire game. He had some perfectly thrown deep balls to both Odell and Shep, so let's not just look at one play and conclude the story let's look at everything if we are going to judge his play last night.

Exactly the window was quick and the read progression is quick ... red zone and poor OL with a statue QB ... it was pure execution that failed the play! his 3rd read was open after he missed the 2nd ... but instead he tried to force it to the 2nd read ....
I meant
MotownGIANTS : 10/23/2018 12:22 pm : link
after he missed the the 1st (read) not 2nd who was never open ...
I liked it..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/23/2018 12:23 pm : link
better when Harbaugh was saying "I WANT CAKE. I WANT IT NOW!!" on the sidelines.....

Yet it still hit his hands.
I agree, that one play
5BowlsSoon : 10/23/2018 12:27 pm : link
Summed it all up for me. Eli had to hit Odell with that pass but for some inexplicable reason didn’t and decided to throw it into coverage.

And of course the bad throw with Odell open in the end zone.

Yet, Eli made a bunch of great throws, especially in the hurry up.

SOMEONE TELL ME WHY WE CANT GO HURRY UP MORE OFTEN?

Eli is ALARMINGLY too inconsistent.

So everyone and their mother said Odell screwed up by misreading the defense - yet its still Eli's fault?

Really?

Witten said it during the game, Shurmur talked to Odell after the play, and they highlighted it postgame. That throw looks horrible, but it's not on Manning. If Odell simply sticks his foot in the ground and cuts to the corner, the pass is on target and it's the easy TD it should have been. Instead, he adds a wiggle at the top when he already had position on the DB that threw the timing of the whole thing off.
Wait!!!

A QB missed an open receiver? No other QB has ever done that in the history of the NFL. He needs to go.
