We have 8 games left, only 2 teams have a winning record (WASH and CHI). Washington's OL has major health problems (LT injured, RG and LG from yesterday's game on IR, RT has MCL).
Some of these can be winnable, but not if we continue to play as lousy as we were in the first half.
@ SF (2-7)
TB (3-5)
@ PHI (4-4)
CHI (5-3)
@ WASH (5-3)
TEN (3-4)
@ IND (3-5)
DAL (3-4)
Given, we've looked non-competitive against our division rivals. We've also come close in our opening 8. Also, keep in mind that we've played a pretty tough set of games to open up.
I don't think we lose out. Best chances for wins: @ SF, TB, TEN, @ IND and DAL at home.
Will they end up improving on their 3-13 record? I think so.
JPP is might even end Eli's career.
It's going to be bad.
TB is going to destroy us.
(If this turns out to be true I want legend status on BBI)

None of this means that the Giants are a good team, but it absolutely means that Giants will have a shot in pretty much all of these remaining games. To say we don't have a shot in any game is pretty off-base IMO. I mean Buffalo won a blowout at Minnesota. This is the NFL with small talent disparities between good/bad teams.
Would anyone really be shocked if they finish 5-3 for an overall 6-10 record? Personally, given the weak schedule, I think 3-5 wins is more likely than 1-2 wins. 4-12/6-10 is most likely final record.
Dallas could be interesting if they are out of the hunt.
But I can see 1-15

This was early and they still had some hope.
Vets are now trying to stay healthy and we do not have a bunch of kids trying to make a name for themselves like SF.
Because if they don't start scoring at a higher rate, they aren't going to win another game.
Dallas could be interesting if they are out of the hunt.
But I can see 1-15
Tampa is averaging 28.6 per game. The Giants are averaging 18.75. Not saying the Giants can't win, but they have only exceeded the Bucs' average per game point total in one game this year.
our defense would have to come up big though.

Both those teams regularly score in the 30s. They actually have NFL offenses. Andrew Luck has gotten better every week.

Tampa in NY is the only reason I had.
But like I said I don't see us winning another game
But this team is capable of winning, if the other team just does not show up.....but even if that happens, this team, with the constant mistakes it makes, is quite capable of shooting itself in the foot for a loss....
If they lose to the 49er's, to win another game this year is just a fluke if it happens...
...as in stick a fork in it.
2-14 is the very best they'll end up with.
But 1-15 would surprise no one.
We have been lucky they’ve been in several games but I fully expect some blowouts over the rest of the games.
Even though I love the Giants, their current state as the worst team in the NFC will continue throughout the remainder of the schedule.
What are they hoping for?
I've read a lot of interesting thoughts on this thread. The only thing I'll add to them is that we always have a tendency to think the team is going to be what it was, and I understand that. I don't expect an offensive juggernaut or a 9 win team right now.
But coming out of the bye, we don't HAVE to expect them to be as bad as they were going into it. We can hope to see that some progress was made. I'm hoping for that because I don't want the loser mentality to sink in even deeper. Winning 5 of our last 8 might really create something we can build on.
The future isn't yet written.

Washington and Dallas suck. The Giants D played the Saints better than the Rams. They Even w Eli this team was a mediocre OL
Away from being around 500. They also played the Falcons a lot better than Washington.
Oakland is a disaster. They won't win another game. Gruden is being exposed as a guy who was out too long. Maybe he adjusts but anyone who is watching that shot show has to believe he's going QB. He will get rid of Carr. He's rather be wron w his guy that work w what he has.

We just got crushed by Washington. The Dallas game is what destroyed my soul this season. I thought for sure we could beat them, but we looked absolutely terrible.
There is no way we win against either team. Jamon Brown can't do it all for us.
I agree... Hence my question, what are people hoping for...
