It was decision day for the #Giants, and they are activating DE RJ McIntosh from the non-football injury list, source said. Some front seven help.
Edwards, Mauro, Wynn....if they cant rush the passer we need to seriously upgrade. I know most are young, so lets hope there are some potential pass rushers there. The first things we need to build are o-line and pass rush.

Not that this wouldn't be nice, and I do think Hill has been and will continue to be a disruptive presence, but in Betcher's D its actually more essential to get a consistent pass rush out of the ROLB/LOLB/ and occasionally the "moneybacker".
Tanney would've been the obvious choice to be cut Â
and I would love for NYG to snag Josh Allen from Kentucky in the draft next year. Some have him as a late first early second rounder. Need to rebuild the LB unit.
He was a 5th RD pick and most of them don't make significant contributions.
Plus he's already missed all the mini-camps, training camp and the first 8 games.
Yes, he is a fifth round pick, but mostly because of the illness. He has a higher grade talent. For those who forgot, he absolutely man handled Quinten Nelson head to head last year. Destroyed him.
We got younger and cheaper with some really nice pieces. Identify a pass rusher this draft and with further development of the young bucks and this D will start imposing its will.

Gotta love the optimism, but we have not seen a rose-colored world in about 30 years.
Mcintosh has a great first step - think he will flash even after Â

McIntosh seemed to be the most pass rushy of them all, kind of in the mold of Justin Smith.
Can anyone explain to me why Shurmur said this was humor?
Q: Activating (RJ) McIntosh, how do you see his role fitting into that D line rotation?
A: He will fit into the rotation, we’ll see how he progresses. He’s done a good job so far, we’re just learning about him. The question was if he was behind a while back, he’s not as far behind now. Attempt at humor. We’ll just see how much he can handle. We feel like he’s got a future, we had to deal with a medical issue that we were not aware of when we drafted him, so we helped rectify that. As long as he’s a Giant, we’re working with him and we’re looking forward to seeing him do good things.
That line can hopeuflly be a + unit for the giants. Surrounding them with another standing up passrusher and a LB that can cover can go a long way.

Don’t forget about Mario Edwards. He is young and an ideal 3-4 DE.

True! I really think this group is one of the few things we can feel good about going forward. young and cheap.

Which leads me to the possibility of a blue chip edge rusher being in the mix next April.

I wouldn't hate it.

We probably found him scouting Nelson.
LMAO

Agreed.

Isn't he a race car driver?

there will be no NFL suspension for Mario Lauletta.
Kyle on the other hand...

I think Lauletta was Mario's middle name, no?
