It may or may not happen. He's not going to undermine his starting QB during a season where he expects/hopes to go deep into the playoffs. But, if Prescott continues to look ordinary, if that, Jones will look elsewhere before he commits big bucks to that position. Maybe he'll have no real alternative but to pay Prescott but he would throw him under the bus in a second regardless of what he says now.
