I thought I read somewhere that if the Giants cut Latimer and Thomas by today that they would get a 4th round comp pick and maybe a 5th depending on other factors. Is that true? Or is it just BS? If yes, to me it’s a no brainer to do it.
I think it was based on info from OTC, in any event its all speculation since the entire compensation formula is complicated, but if it works out to be possible I'd hope they do it.
It’s before the Giants tenth game that the cuts have to be made. So it’s another week to go. I would pissed if one of Omameh, Lattimer or Thomas was not cut next week. This is because there is a chance of losing the 4 round compensation pick IF Geno Smith doesn’t qualify for the compensation formula. You are rolling the dice right now. And Geno Smith qualifies, then you only get a fifth or seventh round pick as compensation for the others. However, I might be reading this chart incorrectly.
