Former Giant Aaron Rouse won a City Counsil seat last night

in Virginia Beach. Please don’t make this political, just wanted to point out a former Giant trying to improve his home town.

Aaron Rouse and incumbent John Moss won the two open seats, defeating four other candidates. Moss, a longtime conservative voice on the council, was deadlocked with Dee Oliver for much of the night. He ended up winning by roughly 350 votes.

Rouse is a retired National Football League player who has a nonprofit called Rouse’s House.

"It will be good to have more diversity on our council to serve the people," he said of his win Tuesday. "The people spoke."

Can't blame Aaron for that. He was picked up off of mid-season to replace Kenny Phillips after he went to the IR.

That whole safety situation was absolutely terrible at the time and took forever to get figured out.

He got pick up off of waivers. If you had high expectations of him after being waved, I don't know what to tell you. He was basically handed a starting job due to attrition.

What college did he play for? I don't recall.
I can't say I had high hopes for him, but he had great size

and I thought he would be a little better... instead that fatal 2009 combo of CC Brown, Rouse and Bill Sheridan was a debacle, especially coming on the heels of what had been a dominant stretch of Giants football.

Lol. Hope he’s better at politics than defending the pass.
