The night Jimmy had planed to whack Maury, they're out drinking when Jimmy tells Henry, "that thing we talked about, forget about it". Henry interpreted that Maury had gotten a reprieve. Why then did Tommy whack him ?
was because Morrie had the audacity to complain about not getting his share from the heist and had complete disregard for Jimmy cutting him a break even though he owed him money.
because he followed them outside into the parking lot and was still demanding the money. He got a reprieve until they realized he would never shut up about it.

Yeah, I think in the moment with Henry Jimmy was going to let it go, but Morrie keeping on about it changed his mind back.

and the fact that Jimmy killed ANYBODY asking for money....Henry says, "Jimmy was cutting ties with everybody....What did I care? I wasn't asking him for anything."
The acting job DeNiro did at the bar to show the audience that he was changing his mind (as he was changing his mind given Morrie not letting it go) without moving a muscle in his face that I could see was to me...the best single shot of DeNiro's talent in all the movies he ever did.
Watch it again. Listen to Morrie go on and on and watch DeNiro...you just know he just decided Morrie is going to die that night.
He was starting to not trust Henry (or anyone for that matter) OR simply did not want Henry involved in or thinking they had anything to do with Murray and his "disappearance".
If he ever became a rat it was one less thing he was a "witness" too.
But we all know how that worked out.
Many mob hits involved everyone involved taking a shot or a stab at someone even after they were dead just so they were all accomplices.
Or they just simply wouldn't have you around when it happens.

"What 'warm it up?' Get the fuck outta here!"

"Better make that coffee to go, let's go.......what the fuck ya doin, it's a joke, put the fuckin' pot down. You were gonna take the coffee?"

I grew up in Howard Beach. 1965-1980
Knew the Gottis and the Burke’s
I knew about the Lufthansa heist happening before it happened
The week after the heist Burke’s oldest son was driving a new Lincoln continental

Be a part of it or "know nothing" about it.
The Mob had its fair share of legal experts.
