and thoughts on QB's who might not be playing for their teams next year.....
ON Eli:
"Eli Manning may have to make the uncomfortable decision about whether to retire or keep playing if the Giants finally cut bait."
As for his rankings, Brady 11th?

If he wasnt a nutcase, I'd consider Winston cause he at least has talent at this point of his career.

Maybe if Winston was removed from his stomping grounds in FLA he settles out...but NFW Mara goes for that.
Maybe Gruden takes him. Gruden liked him when he did is QB thing for ESPN.

I really am warming up to Winston on a 1-2 year deal. I mean, can it actually get worse?
I am tired of the notion that we cant take on players with risks because they arent Giant players. You know what... this team is full of non-Giants player and has been for longer than Mara realizes.
So are you saying we didnt waste dollars in fixing the OL this free agency? We gave out one of the worst cotnracts in the history of the NFL and another decent chunk to a guy who has already been benched.

Flacco takes shits that are better than Winston. Talent? Flacco was, is and will always be better than Winston. Winston is hot garbage even if there might be some wacky perception that he has a higher ceiling. He sucks and he’s weird.
Not that I want Flacco here.... I’d rather we just draft a kid but something tells me the giants are going to release Eli and sign a vet FA qb.
Flacco always has been the bus driver. He had an amazing run when they won the SB where he was amazing and has had some other really good memorable playoff games too.
But his success was always predicated on a great run game and great defense. Baltimore hasnt had the run game in a long long time. And their defnese has been hard with injuries in the last few years. They are much better this year.

Flacco went into an organization and had leadership where he could instantly attribute.
Winston went to TB who has been a lost franchise for years. Winston is part of the problem no doubt, but I dont think its a fair comparison.

You and I rarely agree. But this is spot on. There isn't a bigger QB fraud in the NFL than Joe Flacco.
Cam did not look good, but he has him 8th.

At his best he was a winning qb who could make all the throws. He’s not that anymore but like most qbs there are usually mitigating factors. And he could just have slipped as a player. When a qb wins and wins big there’s no such thing as fraudulent. You either deliver or you don’t. Flacco delivered. His prime wasn’t very long though.
Flacco is basically Eli Manning with one less magical postseason run. That’s a lot less but still, not half bad.

Flacco is actually a very talented player. Actually more talented than Eli. But at least Eli gave effort all the time.
Flacco, on the other hand, is uninspiring and doesn’t always show up. I contend he isn’t a hard worker and tries to get by on his talent alone all too often.
He’s had a very short period of high quality. And that just happened to occur, coincidentally, during his contract year. So I find everything about him dubious.
So he’s more fraud, to me, than this quality player...
Hmmm...

who Is not the answer. Draft a young QB and fix the OL. Winston Bridgewater Carr are not the long term solution.

So uh... What's your point? What does past mistakes have to do with not making future ones... Like, IDK, spending more FA dollars on a QB that won't be able to do anything behind this line either?
I agree with Fiddy. DOn't waste money on a FA QB, fix the line, and draft one.

I think you're being harsh on Winston no?
Flacco has been an extraordinary Playoff QB. Joe is 10-5 in the Playoffs and has the third highest Postseason winning percentage. He has a higher QB rating than Troy Aikman, Eli and Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, and Brett Favre. Flacco has a passer rating of 92.1 or higher an astounding 9 times in the Playoffs. Joe's skill players were inferior to most QB's.
Joe was a good regular season QB and an exceptional Postseason QB. Flacco is one of the best Playoff quarterbacks in NFL history.
