NYDN: McGaughey as ST coach “I fight for everything”

Defenderdawg : 11/9/2018 2:54 pm
Giants' special teams coached by Thomas McGaughey have been bright spot...

“That’s, you know, I can’t answer that question because I don’t make those decisions,” McGaughey said of why the Giants waived Henderson on Tuesday to activate rookie RJ McIntosh, exposing him to waivers until he cleared Wednesday and they re-signed him to the practice squad.
“I like what he was doing, definitely,” McGaughey said of Henderson,

“I fight for everything. That’s the special teams coach,” said McGaughey, who could end up adding Corey Coleman to his roster of return men Monday night. “We fight for every inch. You’re always fighting to try and get certain guys up, to go get guys, looking for ways to get better. So it’s one of those deals where you just line up and play with who you got.”

What did I miss? Kicker has bee good l, although where are the real pressure kicks on a shit team playing for nothing.

This Monday if the Giants line up for a game winning or tying FG at the end of the game, you know damn well it will be a miss.
Isn't Quinn the ST coach?

Quinn is only an assistant ST coach. When McGaughey started undergoing cancer treatments earlier this year, they brought Quinn back as an assistant.

So when he misses kicks, cut him. When he makes all the kicks, he's okay, but none of it matters unless it's a game winner in the playoffs?

Nah, he is the Kicker. I am just bitter at all things Giants. He has Looked good, but I do think you truly become a Kicker for a team when you can make the meaningful ones. Of course, all are worth three points anyway. I hope Rosas can do it when this team plays meaningful games again or else there is another hole to fill.

I just am amazed the specials were called a bright spot when the Giants putrid offense is often starting behind the eight ball with field position and the punt receiving has had many errors. Also the team just put the only guy who looked like a returner on the practice squad. Strange
Special teams have been a bright spot?

That's not what I'm seeing.

Least glaringly flawed, I guess.
