was the opening act at Shea in '82, followed by The Clash and then the F*cking Who!
I was stuck in traffic on the Whitestone Bridge when Johansen played (I turned the Whitestone a bit yellow as I peed off the side - traffic was completely stopped).

I remember that show, and the rain. Traffic wads bad leaving the show as well. I fell asleep in the car for 2 1/2 hours on the ride home, when I woke up, we were just leaving the parking lot.
Gotta be 1983 or so. The Back In the Saddle reunion tour when Joe Perry and Brad Whitfiord rejoined the band. He was terrible. We threw shit at him and booed him off the stage.
so ill be brief. JT was a sweet but very damaged music icon. We recorded together and he wanted me to tour with him and Wayne Kramer (MC5) in Europe but he was a stone cold junkie so I passed. It was exciting working with him when I wasnt literally propping him up.

The Who, blew me away that night and fortunately I've seen them quite a few times since.
Fun show.

Great movie. I completely forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
Johnny Thunders is one of all time NY greats. What was he like in person? I was 13 when he ODed in New Orleans
I believe the ticket was $7 if you were a student.
U2 really took off shortly after that.
It was a very small, on campus, outdoor venue.
I was always a fan of good ol' David Jo.
