Dez Bryant was helped off the field at #Saints practice today after suffering what the team fears may be a torn Achilles, sources tell me and @RapSheet. He’s getting an MRI now.

Wow... seriously that sucks.

I am not a fan of the guy but damn. You dont want that to happen to anyone. Shit for the Saints too. They probably owe this guy a few hundred thousand now for doing an interview and walking through the locker room.
That blows.

sucks for the guys in fantasy that held onto Dez all season and finally felt vindicated when he finally signed with a team.

Dez had plenty left. His game was never about speed and separation it was about physical play and winning contested balls. He could have still been a good or great receiver for somebody. But this achilles tear is probably a career-ender.

Probably you're right - that's likely a wrap on his career.

No he didn't.

If he had "plenty left" it wouldn't have taken until October for someone to call him.

He hasn't been the same since his foot injury. The burst wasn't there anymore and his production took a pretty large dip.

Now he's finished.
He was done before this happened

Dez never had burst. He was always slow. he was big and physical. His problem at Dallas was Dak and the makeup of the offense. And the reason he didn't get called (and he did get some calls btw) was he wanted too much money. Anyway what does it matter now.. he's probably finished.
Well that isn’t true at all
UConn4523 : 11/9/2018 5:57 pm : link
it wasn’t just about the money, his ability has fallen off a cliff. Dak didn’t help but Dez’s decline in ability was more of a factor. THats like blaming Eli and Russell Wilson for Brandon Marshall not being good anymore.

arcarsenal : 11/9/2018 5:59 pm : link
He most certainly did have burst before - you can't really play WR in the NFL without it. He was much better at separating a few years ago. He lost that ability after he got hurt and as big and strong as he is, you can't just throw 50/50 balls up to him and make it work. He declined quite a bit.

If he did have anything left, we'll never know. He's done now.

FranchiseQB : 11/9/2018 6:01 pm : link
Dak doesn't throw the damn ball. Marshall is four years older than Dez. Dak makes all his receivers look like garbage.

And you left out another statement. Despite all of that Dez Bryant was already at the end of his career and no longer a good player.
It would serve some guys on BBI right
81_Great_Dane : 11/9/2018 6:18 pm : link
if he turned out to have a mild ankle sprain and went off for a huge game and remainder of the season.

Probably not.

yes it would. but sadly an achilles tear is a devastating injury and pretty obvious, i think. Whatever it is, it must look quite serious.
i wonder if the layoff

Yeah. Very sad. No matter what you think of him.
Maybe it was a hidden injury
Foobarbaz : 11/10/2018 12:37 pm : link
Its why he hasnt been playing all season and looking for the biggest money since he knew he couldnt play anyways
